I have the hosting and have registered the domain.
I've even uploaded b2evolution to the site and begun playing around with the formatting, but I'm a dolt when it comes to CSS and b2evolution.
The site is to update people on the status of my wife's battle with breast cancer. We live more 1000+ miles away from all of our rather large family and some things are much easier to type than to have 20 phone conversations with 20 different people telling them all the exact same thing.
I'm envisioning 4 main pages for the site -
[url removed, login to view] main page that will double as my wife's blog
[url removed, login to view] page that will be my blog
3.A page that will contain a sticky post with instructions on how friends and family can make donations to us and will also contain links that we feel are important or interesting
4.A page where we can post pictures and video to document the battle and show people that life is not over when you've been diagnosed with cancer. So we'd like the ability to blog around the pictures and video.
It doesn't necessarily need to be b2evolution if you have another way to do it, but here are the features/functionality the site must have that I couldn't figure out how to program myself:
[url removed, login to view] link towards the top of the page to a guestbook for visitors to sign on my wife's blog. I want visitors to have the ability to comment on blog postings, but I also want a central place where every visitor can leave my wife a message so she can easily read them all at any time she wants or needs to see how many people are pulling for her
[url removed, login to view] link at the top of the page to a static page for me to give the background story on my blog
[url removed, login to view] link on both blogs to the donation instructions/links page
[url removed, login to view] ability to have the donation instructions remain at the top of the donations/links page and not be moved down as new posts are added to that page describing new links we've found
[url removed, login to view] ability to have a permanent link on each page linking to our cafepress page where we're selling personally designed items to help raise money as well
[url removed, login to view] same style on each page as far as masthead and colors/text
7.I want the other blog names to make sense and not just be "Blog A" and "Blog B" as b2evolution seems to default to
8.I want each page to have a url that makes sense, so main page will be [url removed, login to view], my blog will be [url removed, login to view], donations/links page will be at [url removed, login to view] and the pics/video page will be at [url removed, login to view] I'm not tied to the names of the subpages (with the exception of "Gary", but just trying to illustrate what I mean
9.I want the site to be easy to update, even if I decide to change the masthead or a color scheme, etc.
[url removed, login to view] a detail of the site, but I'd like some instructions in how to maintain and tweak the site going forward.
I have a masthead already designed, though I keep tweaking it. It's 1024x200 right now. Downsizing it will be easy, upsizing not so much, since it contains photos. I'm thinking, however, of making it 1200x250 since so many people have a widescreen monitor these days. I want the site to be universally friendly for visitors, obviously.
Ideally, I'll find someone who does all this for a living and has a soft spot for people battling cancer and takes the work pro bono, lol.
Seriously, for someone that knows what they're doing, I don't imagine this would take them longer than an hour or two based on the fact b2evolution already contains so many features. So unless it's difficult or nearly impossible to crack the b2evolution defaults to program the extra features I want, this should be fairly simple.
I am willing to pay for quality work.
Examples must be provided, preferrably to similar-type projects.
If this is done in a short time frame, as I think it should be, payment via PayPal upon completion (or another method if you prefer). If this is longer term than I've estimated, 50% payment upon 50% completion with remainder paid upon completion.
