My idea is to make a free website similar to Quizlet that will help students to memorise terms and definitions. However, my website would take a different approach to memorising, in which flashcards are replaced with a new, more effective format.
My current plan is to have one page where the user can insert their words and definitions alongside it. After having submitted their study set, the user would be able to start studying. They would then be directed to a new page featuring the first term. Underneath the term, the user would begin to type the definition by memory. Each word that is correct would be typed in green and any characters/words that are not part of the correct definition would appear red. As soon as the user sees red, they would backspace the incorrect word and attempt to continue correctly. I also wish to have a "Reveal" button which would reveal the missing words of the definition in grey if the user is stuck. They would then be able to release the reveal button to hide the definition and continue typing. After successfully typing the definition, with the whole sentence in green, a firework would go off and the user would press "Next" to learn the next term. The "Next" function can also be used to skip the word if the user does not wish to define it. I would like the definitions to NOT be capital sensitive to prevent unnecessary red characters.
