I am looking for a skilled web developer to build a brand new simple business directory website from scratch. The website will have a very basic structure, not much detail, and aesthetics are key.
The web site will list many tools in various categories with various keywords. If someone scrolls through the web site, they will see everything on a single web page in boxes with the category as a the title of each box and then a few businesses/websites listed as resources as bullet points below inside each box.
This project has two components:
1. Build and publish the web site code.
2. Compile the original list of businesses to list in the directory. (I'll provide a handful of web sites we can use as a starting point.) The list of businesses will be very simple: primary category, name, URL, and keywords (for searching)
Key features/requirements:
- Simple, elegant, beautiful design is most important
- Basic listing (single web page design)
- Search functionality (one search box at top of web site that will seamlessly, smoothly filter the results below)
- The website should be built from scratch, without relying on any existing platforms or templates.
Unique features:
- We will need a way to flag one or more businesses as being featured in their respective categories. This would be done manually on the back end.
- We will want a featured spot toward the top of the web site for an advertisement of sorts. It would be a box that may have a small video or perhaps just some text and then a button/link to take them to another web site. The promotion will change from time-to-time, but we will always have some content for that box.
Technical requirements:
- Must be written in Vue/Nuxt
- Our deployment will be a handful of files on a static web server (i.e. Amazon S3)
- For simplicity, we can keep the list of businesses in a CSV file, but that will need to be converted to JSON for Vue/Nuxt, so please plan on having a script mechanism for this to be converted. It cannot be converted at run time, since the files will be static hosted.
