I have a very customized Wordpress web site where I post articles and videos twice a month and encourage readers to leave comments. I am having a problem with spammers leaving messages, and although I make sure that I approve each message before it's posted, my inbox is getting overwelmed with alerts that a spam message has been posted in the comments on my site's articles. Recently, one article was getting a spam message posted more than 20 times a day as if it was automated. I have experience with creating forms with a captcha, but I'd really rather leave this up to a professional to worry about. It would also be helpful if someone could tell me if there's risk that my site has been blacklisted or anything due to the spammers?
I have some specific requirements - I don't want a CAPTCHA with a game or a math problem, but some simple letters to enter that is similar to the CAPTCHA on my web site's contact form. I want the CAPTCHA form to be ABOVE the submit button.
I'd also like the professional I hire to troubleshoot and fix an issue where, when the tab key is pressed when filling out the comment form, the curser jumps to a different opt-in form on the page. I do have some insight on how to fix this, but I would like to trust a pro to take care of it for me. It might just require a simple customization on one form or the other.
