I need quite urgently a full web site for an African art gallery. Basically we are taking about the creation of a template. I need someone with good graphic skills to come up with a nice looking site. Additionally there will be the boutique with all the pieces for sale organized by type (tables, chairs, paintings, , etc..). From here it has to be possible to perform simple search, by simply selecting the category (type of item) among a list, or an advanced search where it is also possible to list items with defined origin, year (example: older than 50,100, 150 years), the material, .
The boutique could be something like the list of items on 2 columns and right below the advanced search check boxes (open to suggestions).
The results will be a list of thumbnails with few details, clicking on them will open additional pictures and details.
In this same page also a link to the contact (Didn't find what you are looking for --> linked to a form where to write to defined contact).
On the home page there will be as well a few other links, like the:
-who are we
It's quite a standard job, the important is that the design is clean and nice, using color and graphic recalling Africa (like black, white, sepia). The items will be expensive piece for "elite" people, or anyway, so it has to feel. Something high-class/clean/smelling antique Africa. Enough to give you already the full pictures I think. But of course we will get in touch via Skye, chat and mail before and during project.
A logo is also needed, but something simple, just the company name in some nice design with few colors (provide a couple of samples). Something that will be used for business cards as well (logo as to be provide in high resolution).
The all point is to have a easy way to manage all items that will be sold on-line by a standard user, that will not have to get into complex procedures (add/edit/remove/mark as sold/add pictures/description and details for search for all items). Must be possible to add event news (also available shortly in the front page for example). The text for the few pages will be given and few images as well to add as sample in the gallery.
Predispose the site so to be possible to add a video for streaming (.avi, mpeg)
The site will be in two languages. Add English and french option to switch easily.
As mentioned the contact part will have a form to write directly into.
A plus is adding the possibility to pay via PayPal. Something like a way to pay on line a chosen object, payment will automatically mark the item as sold.
Better if by editing each item will be possible to mark them as "sold" (ex: "sold" image on top) or make them invisible (while waiting for payment for example before taking them off line) (the image will then show a visible write "sold").
You will have to do what necessary to make the site available for search engine (not a complex optimization, but it has to be searchable)
Given ftp details you will put the site on-line as well (probably on b-one ,but I can consider other if you can provide hosting too).
In the contact add a "skype us" link (possible to unpublish it). Ideally it will show the "skype us" (or show on-line/off-line status) icon if the person is available on skype. [If you decide to show status it can only be on-line or off-line, "away" or "not disturb" will correspond to "off-line"]
Nothing too far from a simple template creation, if you have questions ask I will give you more details. If you bid make sure you can start working immediately on it. First thing that will have to be delivered is the logo.
I will not have much time to play with the site once completed and put on-line so I expect to have about a month to communicate little modifications. If everything goes well you will remain the point of contact for future enhancements.
I'd like to reinforce that the management as to be easy for the authorized users.
As I said, bid if you can provide some good example of graphic work you have done. The logo and the template will have to be approved by me before finalizing them.
Please put a little note in PM to confirm you can do all mentioned and specify the solution you would go for , like Joomla (sounds good), Mambo, other ...
Be sure there will be more work for you if you deliver something really nice.
