I need our company website re-designed ([url removed, login to view]). As you can see it was very poorly designed.
Also, we had a previous website([url removed, login to view]) that was never finished but it ranks higher in google when you search for our company name and that deceives costumers.
We're located in Sarnia
Here's some questions I've been asked regarding the project, it may be of use to you:
- Will you require the ability to update the website on a regular basis yourself. If so then we need to consider an integrated content management system.
No, most of the people in this small company are old fellows, mostly retired, computer illiterate. I'm young and techy but I'm only here on contract as an external consultant, plus, they won't need to add/change anything (or very little) after it's finished. However it would be nice to have you there in case they ever need to change something.
-Am I basing a quote solely on the amount of content on your current website [url removed, login to view] or will there be any new additions/pages? New features etc.
I would say there won't be much at all to add, and what's already there is 90-95% of what I want. However, since you have more experience, feel free to recommend any other features/pages you think would be good to have.
-Will you be able to supply me with high quality images or do you require professional photography services or stock photos? Good quality images is everything when it comes to a professional looking design.
I won't be supplying you with the images, plus I think it's better if I leave that up to your creative genius. And yes, I agree that high quality images is pretty much everything, I like the fact that you put a big image/logo on the top of every page relating to that page content.
-Are you interested in seeing multiple design concepts to choose from or just one concept with ability for minor revisions to it
Just one concept with ability for minor revisions to it will do. I would like something that reflects the nature of the business, so a combination of high-tech, industrial robustness, and manly power to it lol. I don't know how else to describe it. Also, with a focus on hoses.
-Is search engine optimization an important factor, meaning how important is it for people to find your business in search engines? I’m assuming important based on your mention of the unfinished website/higher ranking in Google. Which by the way we can easily point that domain name to the proper new website.
Yes SEO is important, meta tags, all that good stuff, to make sure the website content is spider-able by the 3 main SEs. Let's make the unfinished site point to the actual site as you suggested.
- I see on your current site the top banner for free hosting by GoDaddy…, my advice would be to pay for your web hosting and have that eliminated.
Do I need to do that myself or could you take care of that too? I don't really care who is hosting it as long as it's reasonably priced and reliable.
Also, we need e-mail addresses (at industratechinc . com ). I only have one working right now ([url removed, login to view] at industratech . com) and would like to keep that one but set up another 6 for now.
As any business developer would do, I am also shopping around for the best price for this project, so please give us a good deal on it, I like your style better than all the other designers I've look at. Also, since I work on contract for different companies that need business advice, I will be in need of this service ever more often, meaning that I would be a repeat customer and a source of referrals.
Give me an estimate on this and an ETA so I can present it to the president and further construct our budget and development deadlines.
Hope to hear from you soon. Smiles,
