I'm looking to have a website created that utilizes google maps to plot several thousand addresses and allow the user to view addresses close to an address they submit based on radius and other selection criteria. I'd like something similar to [url removed, login to view] where a mouseover one of the pinpoints provides photos, more info and a link.
Also required will be parsing another website to obtain the addresses I want to plot. This will have to be done periodically as the addresses are updated. Hopefully something turnkey could be put in place so I can execute a script or something to parse the addresses myself.
The ideal candidate will have examples of prior work and hopefully some prior experience with google maps.
This is a two-part project.
First, I need someone that can do HTML parsing. I want to scrape a particular website to compile a list of addresses and other various info. There are going to be approximately 10,000 addresses. The addresses are going to change periodically so something turnkey needs to be put in place so I can execute something and update the addresses myself.
Second, I need someone familiar with Google Maps that can plot the scraped addresses and display specific ones based on user-supplied criteria (radius from a specific address, the XX closest addresses, etc). I want additional information displayed when the user mouseovers one of the map pushpins, as well as a more detailed list of results underneath the map.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide examples of previous work involving Google Maps. I'm open to suggestions on what will be required back-end wise to achieve this result - I'm looking for clean, simple and fast.
