I need a small, browser-based calculator that lets my customers work out exactly how much aluminium they have in their basket and whether it meets our production thresholds before they call us. The interface should feel as familiar as a typical e-commerce quantity selector: pick a beam section, choose a length, type in a quantity and watch the results update instantly. Behind the scenes the script has to pull the density and surface-area data I will supply (already organised in a spreadsheet) and then: • add up total weight in kilograms • add up total powder-coating area in square metres • highlight when any single beam section hits 250 kg • highlight when any colour grouping hits 200 m² Customers will also be able to split the same physical items across different powder-coating colours, so the colour check has to run in parallel with the section weight check. I will hand over a concise spec document containing worked examples, data tables and the exact workflow. You are free to build with the front-end stack you prefer—as long as the maths runs client-side so updates feel instant. A clean, mobile-friendly UI and well-commented code are important because my in-house team will maintain it later. Deliverables • Responsive web page (HTML/CSS/JS or equivalent) embedded easily into our existing site • All source files plus a short README explaining how to swap in new beam sizes or densities • Tested calculations that match the examples in the spec document Once the core tool is working I’ll run it through real orders and give you quick feedback, so please allow a little wiggle room for one revision round.
