The objective of this project is to revamp and re-develop the existing In-Plant Management System (IPM). The current application, developed in Visual Basic with MS Access as the backend database support, will serve as a reference for the new development.
Dispense Program and Management System:
The primary focus of this project is the development of a Dispense Program and Management System software. The new software should function identically to the existing VB program. It will provide operators with a user-friendly interface to accurately mix chemicals, resulting in the production of a specific amount of color.
Performance and Technology Upgrade:
The new system will be built using the latest technologies and architecture to enhance performance and scalability. The following considerations should be addressed:
a. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and libraries to improve the overall system performance.
b. Implement a modern and intuitive user interface design that improves usability and efficiency.
c. Upgrade the backend database support to a more robust and scalable solution, ensuring data integrity and security.
d. Optimize system response time and minimize processing delays during dispensing operations.
Maintain Existing Functionality:
Most of the existing functionality of the In-Plant Management System should be maintained in the new system. Ensure that all core features, such as inventory management, order tracking, and reporting, are retained and seamlessly integrated into the revamped system.
Address Pain Points and Improve Functionality:
Identify and address any pain points or limitations present in the current system. Gather requirements from stakeholders and end-users to determine areas for improvement. Based on these requirements, add new and improved functionalities to enhance the overall user experience and productivity. Consider implementing features such as:
a. Real-time inventory tracking and management.
b. Automated order processing and notifications.
c. Enhanced reporting and data analysis capabilities.
d. Integration with other relevant systems or APIs to streamline workflows.
Documentation and Testing:
Thoroughly document the new system's architecture, design, and implementation details. Provide clear and concise user documentation to aid users in understanding and effectively utilizing the system. Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the new software is reliable, secure, and free from critical bugs or errors.
Timeline and Milestones:
Develop a project timeline with clear milestones and deliverables. Regularly communicate progress updates to the client, highlighting completed tasks and any potential risks or delays.
Support and Maintenance:
