We currently run several excel spread sheets
one is a log of invoice numbers with describtion and value
the other are the detailed invoices
we need a macro that when in the detail invoice and a macro button is pressed to get the inv number
it opens the invoice log spreadsheet
finds the last invoice number adds one and copies that number into the invoice detail spread sheet,
then the value, ref and customer name is copied to the invoice log
they are seperate spreadsheets and should check if the invoice log is already open if so returns a message saying unable to allocate invoice number
Please quote on above this is the urgent requirment
this would be first step in the project the next would be to move the invoicelog to a database and have the detail excel spread get the number from the database and a basic VB form to allow manually entires into the invoice log
please also quote on doing part 2 if you feel it ca be done .
