We are looking for an experienced email infrastructure specialist to install, configure, and optimize KumoMTA (PowerMTA alternative) for high-volume email delivery. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in setting up bulk mailing servers with complete tracking, deliverability optimization, and security compliance. Scope of Work: Installation and full configuration of KumoMTA on our server Setup of multiple domains and subdomains for email sending Configuration of DNS records including: SPF DKIM DMARC Proper RDNS (PTR) configuration and IP reputation setup Email tracking system setup (open rate, click tracking, bounce handling) SMTP configuration and IP rotation (if required) Feedback loop (FBL) setup with major ISPs Server security hardening and spam protection Warm-up strategy and inbox placement optimization Integration with mailing platforms or APIs (if required) Requirements: Proven experience with PowerMTA / KumoMTA or similar MTAs Strong knowledge of email deliverability best practices Experience with DNS, mail authentication protocols, and server management Ability to optimize inbox delivery (avoid spam folders) Familiarity with VPS/Dedicated server environments (Linux-based) Deliverables: Fully functional KumoMTA setup Tested email delivery system with tracking enabled Proper documentation of setup and configurations Basic training or guidance for our team Bonus Skills (Preferred): Experience with PMTA, Postal, or other MTAs Knowledge of IP warm-up tools and strategies Experience handling high-volume email campaigns Project Type: One-time setup (with potential long-term support) Please share your past work experience and similar projects you’ve completed. Hi there, I have a lot of experience with mail systems, including KumoMTA, Postfix, and Haraka. KumoMTA is purely a mail delivery engine. I can fully install and configure it, but it’s important to be clear that several core parts of your scope require external tools or custom development: Not handled by KumoMTA (requires external setup or custom build): Tracking system (open tracking pixels, click tracking, redirect service) Campaign/mailing platform (UI, contact lists, templates, scheduling) API layer for sending and event tracking Bounce processing with detailed classification and reporting Suppression lists, unsubscribe handling, and compliance logic IP warm-up automation and reputation monitoring systems Centralised logging, analytics dashboards, and reporting Partially handled (but still needs external work): DKIM signing is supported, but SPF/DMARC and DNS must be configured externally IP rotation and throttling are possible, but advanced rotation strategies require custom logic Basic bounce handling exists, but not full feedback loop automation Outside of scope (cannot be done by me directly): ISP feedback loop registration (must be applied for and approved by the sender/owner) IP reputation itself (depends on usage, data quality, and sending practices) I can implement Kumo, but factors I mentioned above will increase cost, or not be possible.

I manage Linux mail infrastructure regularly — DNS records, DKIM/SPF/DMARC, IP reputation, deliverability tuning. I've configured MTA setups for production environments and know the difference between getting emails delivered vs landing in spam. What I'd deliver: KumoMTA installation: clean install on your server, configured for your sending volume. Proper queue management, connection limits per destination domain, and bounce handling rules. DNS and authentication: SPF, DKIM (per sending domain), DMARC with reporting, PTR/RDNS verification for each sending IP. I'd set up multiple domains/subdomains as you need them. Tracking: open tracking pixel injection, click redirect tracking, bounce classification (hard/soft), and unsubscribe handling. All logged and queryable. IP reputation: warm-up schedule tailored to your volume targets — start slow, ramp over 2-3 weeks. FBL registration with Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft, and other major ISPs. Security: TLS enforcement, rate limiting, authentication on SMTP relay, firewall rules to lock down the server. Deliverables: working KumoMTA setup, tested end-to-end delivery, full documentation of every config and DNS record, and a walkthrough session for your team.
