Core mechanics I expect you to build and demonstrate: • A robust character-customization suite that lets players define appearance, attributes, skills, and starting gear. • A quest system with branching story lines, clear objectives, rewards, and fail states, all editable from a simple designer-friendly back-end. • Responsive, real-time combat that feels at home on touch screens, with light/heavy attacks, targeted abilities, and enemy AI that makes encounters engaging. I’m leaning toward Unity because of its mobile optimisation tools and large plug-in ecosystem, but I’m open to Unreal Engine if you can keep the final APK/IPA lightweight and battery-friendly. Acceptance criteria 1. A working vertical slice delivered as an installable build on both Android and iOS emulators or test devices. 2. Source project with clean, commented code and clear asset organisation. 3. Short video walkthrough (screen capture) proving all three core mechanics function together in a contiguous zone. 4.
