Hindi to English Translation and Subtitling for Short Film

I am looking for a translator and subtitler to help with an Indian-Australian short film, currently in post-production. This project involves approximately 5 hours of film dialogue which needs to be translated from Hindi into an accurate and time-stamped English transcript, to be used by the English-speaking editing team. For the translation, it is essential that the original tone and meaning of the dialogue is preserved, whilst being presented in a way that makes sense for an English-speaking audience. As all the Hindi dialogue is spoken by Delhi locals, an Indian translator from Delhi would be ideal for this project, in preserving any specific linguistic or cultural nuances spoken by the characters. The audio is raw and unedited. Visuals will be provided where possible for context and clarity. Deliverables: 1. A time-coded English transcript (any standard format such as .srt, .vtt, or a Word/Google Doc with visible timestamps). Collaboration with the translator as to the best format for the project can be discussed. 2. Consistent speaker labels and clear notations for pauses, overlaps, or meaningful background remarks. The rate is fixed at AUD 100 for the entire project, including any necessary minor revisions. This project would be ideal for someone with experience in translation and subtitling for film and television. The chosen applicant will receive a translation credit on the film.
