Hi.
My name is Melina and I am an Australian currently living in Taiwan.
For the last five years, living in Tokyo and now Taiwan, I worked as a freelance transcriber for a Japanese company, transcribing audio recordings of English-language conferences, seminars, interviews and others on an as-needed basis.
Prior to that, I spent four years full time creating official court transcripts of federal and state court proceedings from pre-recorded audio in Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks to both jobs I am adept at conducting verification research to confirm spellings of names of people, places, businesses, drugs, etc. and at creating and maintaining style guides and style sheets to ensure internal consistency.
I have a professional transcription environment, consisting of a 3-pedal foot controller for transcription of digital audio files, professional quality headphones, and Express Scribe professional transcription software.
I am also an experienced copywriter and editor of Japanese-to-English translations and have provided services to a large number of internationally known Japanese corporations. (Which means my spelling and punctuation are pretty much impeccable.)
Please note my bid is based on your sample audio. My rate for audio transcription is USD3.00 per minute of audio (8 minutes x USD3.00 = USD24.00, but it won't let put anything less than USD30). For longer audio files, my fee will go up accordingly. For big jobs with a tight deadline, there will also be an additional charge, but we can talk about that later, if we get to that stage.
Thanks!
