I am an art publisher looking to produce multiple 3-D art pieces, sculpture, lighting, furniture, hardware, etc. The artist I am working with works in ZBrush but has no product manufacturing experience beyond fine art materials. I am looking for a 3-D modeler with rapid prototyping, 3-D printing and or product design/manufacturing experience. I intend to publish multiple products and am looking to establish a workflow. The ideal candidate will be able to take ZBrush files and incorporate hardware items for assembly diagrams, manufacturing instructions, 3-D printing files, etc.
Example 1: We intend to make a front door for a home. The artist will design the front door in ZBrush and we will send you the file. The visible portion of the from door will be made of glass and bronze. The glass will be cut with a CAD water jet and the bronze will be printed via laser sintering. We need you to break up the ZBrush file into individual components for manufacturing, and produce the overall assembly to include all the bolts to put the door together, the internal stainless steel frame for the fabricator, etc.
Example 2: We intend to produce sculpture that hangs from the ceiling that has a LED lighting component. The artist we are publishing will create the file in Z-Brush for the overall design. The finished part will be made from waterjet cut class, kiln slumped glass, and laser sintered or cast bronze and then assembled with LED lamps, sockets, wiring and driver. We need you to take the artist's ZBrush file and separate out the individual components for manufacturing as well as include the internal lighting components. You will produce the assembly diagram, the print files for the manufacturers, etc.
We have many different pieces we are looking to produce. I am hoping to find a modeler that we can work with on a repeat basis. We are an established art publisher working with fine art galleries and collectors all over the world.
