I run a small business that records every transaction in QuickBooks through an external bookkeeping service; what I lack is a US-licensed accountant who can formally affiliate with us and keep an expert eye on compliance. The engagement is long-term and centers on three core advisory lanes—tax preparation, financial reporting, and occasional audit support—so that everything filed or presented is already vetted against current U.S. standards (GAAP, IRS regulations, state rules, etc.). I do not need day-to-day data entry; instead, I need strategic oversight, periodic file reviews, and clear recommendations I can relay to my third-party bookkeepers. Key expectations • Verify the accuracy of my QuickBooks file at agreed checkpoints (monthly or quarterly). • Issue guidance before each tax deadline so returns are complete and defensible. • Prepare or review financial statements that I can share with lenders or investors. • Be available when audit questions arise, helping assemble requested schedules and explanations. QuickBooks Online is the platform in use, so familiarity with its accountant tools is essential. If you already leverage apps such as QuickBooks Accountant, ProConnect, or similar review utilities, that is a plus. Success for me means clean books, timely filings, and the confidence that an active U.S. CPA stands behind the numbers. I have a few questions: 1. What type of entity is your business and in which state is it registered 2. How often would you like the QuickBooks file reviewed monthly or quarterly 3.
