I need a qualified structural / mechanical engineer to take my concept for a 5 mtr long 40-ton lifting beam and turn it into a full fabrication package. The beam will be built from steel and used outdoors, so the design must consider wind-borne debris, temperature swings, and general yard wear. I plan to have the finished beam painted for corrosion protection, therefore the design must allow for the usual surface-prep and film-thickness requirements. Beyond the drawings, I also require proof that the beam is safe and compliant with common lifting standards (ASME B30 or equivalent). Please base your calculations on a straight 40 t working load, include the relevant safety factors, and incorporate the mass of shackles, hooks, and any rigging hardware likely to sit on the beam during a lift. Finite-element stress analysis, hand-check summaries, and clear load paths are essential.
