Optimizing SQL Server Script

Hi I have taken a look at the script you attached, its a bit long, and cant understand it completely without running the script within the database. How many rows do you have in tables dtaprojectinfo, and lovWorkflowDefinition and in view vwIPDProjectInfo? Will you be able to send me some sample data in excel to try this out, or will I be able to connect to your on team viewer or RDC and try this out? Thanks Roni

Good morning, to resolve this will take some time because there are a number of issues. You will need to be able to reboot the server for some of the fixes I propose to take effect since they only occur on reboot. I will need RDP access into the server as an administrator and be a member of the SQL Server sa role. I don't know if this work will all take one day or a week --it depends on what I find when I look at the server. *That is a monster join --I can't speak for whether getting it to run in one second is possible without looking at the server.

Hi - There is a lot of room for improvement in this query. You have some nested testing that can be replaced with a cleaner approach. You haven't said what version of sql this is. I'm a MCSE Data Platform, I've been certified in sql server since version 7.0 and do this kind of thing all the time. I'm willing to work for a low rate just to get a successful project listed on this site. Once I have some test data I can turn this around in less than 2 days.

Hi, I've poured over the query for 90 minutes, I know exactly what I want to do, and I started to type up the changes. There is room for a lot of performance improvement and I'm fully confident I can pull it off as well as anyone else. I was a DBA working on things like these for 3 years and I've currently been working on my own SQL Server based project for the past couple months straight. I think I can finish this in a half day pretty easily but I've set it as 2 days because I'll possibly need some feedback/testing from you and just to be on the safe side. I have no projects but my own, so this will have my sole focus. If the bid is still open when I get up, I'll get back to working on it with the goal of having a couple refined versions for you to try as soon as you would reward me the job. The reason I'm so eager is that it has been extremely difficult to win any bids here without any reputation. Unless you are in a super rush, you really have nothing to lose from trying me out! The slowness most probably comes from the multiple references to the tables aliased "work" and "proj". Could you please provide the creation scripts for these tables also?
