MORE DETAILED INFORMATION READ CAREFULLY!,
I am an avid collector of Buddhist literature and have travelled extensively to Buddhist sites in Nepal, China, India, Srilanka, Burma and Tibet. As of present, I have a collection of 30 old Buddhist Manuscripts from my travels that I have scanned and would like to make them available online in the form of a small online library through the modification of a Lighting Fast Shop System (LFS) that is based in Django. The website in LFS should have the following sections after modification:
-Scrollable and click-able image gallery with rotating images of Buddhist Manuscripts that are randomly pulled out of the database.
- Another section of "Most-Visited" manuscripts should post a click-able gallery of manuscripts that are the most often visited by people on the website.
-Another section of "Historical Events in Buddha's Life" that is updated automatically from the database daily according to the date the user visits the website. This is almost like the [url removed, login to view] "Recent-News" section except it deals with a pre-set links and database image and blurbs that have been pre-fed for each day.
-An interactive calendar of Buddhist Religious events, that is updated regularly.
-The manuscripts are 30 in number and they cover almost 10-topics.
-A page with thumbnails of the topics should appear which would re-direct the user to each topic and its related manuscripts
-The manuscripts related to each topic need to be organized by various means ascending order, descending order, alphabetically etc.
-Information for each Manuscript should appear in a Tab structure or the LFS Product Feature structure
-A commenting and star-rating system should be implemented with log-in system and vulgarity/spam filter system so that Buddhist enthusiasts can comment on each manuscript and its translations.
-Also, a feature similar to [url removed, login to view] "Similar Resources of Interest" should also appear that suggest resources with similar tags or sub-topics with their images that are scrollable and clickable
-A section on the side that shows the Top-Rated resource of each topic
-A section on the side that also allows users to deposit the resource for later use. This is like a Shopping Cart in a E-commerce system.
-The database should allow for more manuscripts entries to be added shall the need arise in the future.
+Image/Photo Galleries of my Travels to Buddhist Sites
-Video galleries on movies made of Buddhist Temples and sites with option of commenting on pictures/videos like in YouTube
-A page that talks about my traveling experiences in Buddhist lands and the culture of Buddhism
Higlights of the Project.
-Modification of the LFS system python coding to satisfy my required features mentioned above
-A well-designed contemporary page layout and color-scheme in CSS for the LFS shopping system is required that reflects Buddhist themes
- As the product is being produced , the developer needs to have video conferencing through internet or other means or screen-shots or screen-recording of the process to keep the Job-supervisor updated. This job involves teaching the supervisor Django and also developing this project with him/her
-The project should be easy to update and maintain in the long-run with little problems to change things around. It should be almost like a CMS system.
-Support in multiple languages of the Buddhist world is required in the future. Even-though the website is being designed in English for now, it should have the capability to be published in the future in Sanskrit, Hindi, Sinhalese, Tamil, Chinese, French and German.
This is a small-project, the developer needs to install the LFS shopping system on the WebFactional or another Django friendly server that I have purchased, and then he/she will start the modification of the LFS system to match the above features and layout listed. The developer also needs to explain each and every step of the process to the Supervisor. The process should take maximum of 1-2weeks.
Time Span: 1-2 weeks
Cost: $250 (Web-developement and design)+ $100 (Training and Teaching the Process)= $350-400 CDN
Applicants need to provide portfolio of their previous work.
