Improve a Processing Code that monitors and controls a rotating beam

It is a very simple project. We need someone to tide-up a processing code (java like language) that interfaces with an arduino and via serial reads some data from arduino.

In uploaded files you can find the code (as it is now), a graphic that shows how we want it to become (the graphic interface) as well as the parameters we want to enter via the graphic interface. We send commands via buttons in processing. We attach the code as it is now (it is taken from another project). Mostly we need a nice graphic setup (visualisation of a rotating beam according to the sensory data we get from arduino) and we need the following functionalities. And some buttons (true/false of some functionalities we will further take care)

-> Input in graphic interface some data (see requirements document)

-> Real Time visualisation of the rotary encoder results

-> Tide up the interface

The beam rotates -90 -> +90 and the beam angle is depicted in the central gauge (see photo)

Any feedback on how to achieve better quality is welcome!
