I already generate 6 V pp single-burst pulses at 80 kHz with a Teensy 4.1; now I need the interface that safely injects those bursts onto a 230 V / 50 Hz mains line (each phase) and also lets me read them back. I am fine combining off-the-shelf parts with a few custom elements, and I have no strong bias between passive or active stages as long as the final result is reliable. For safety and noise rejection I want transformer isolation between the grid and the low-voltage logic side. What I expect back is a complete, production-ready schematic that shows how to couple the transmit and receive paths, includes the line-frequency filters, protection devices, and the isolation transformer specification. Please size every component for continuous connection to 230 Vac and spec the transformer so it handles 80 kHz without excessive loss. If a small PCB layout or SPICE plot helps to prove the concept, feel free to add it. Deliverables • Full schematic in PDF or KiCad/Altium format • Bill of materials with manufacturer part numbers • Transformer winding details or a part number that matches the spec • Brief design note explaining how the circuit keeps 230 Vac away from the Teensy I/O and how the 80 kHz path is maintained (injection level, expected insertion loss, filtering, and surge protection) I will test by driving the coupler from the Teensy, measuring 6 V pp at the transformer primary and verifying pulse integrity across a live mains segment. Once the pulses traverse the line and return cleanly to the receive port, the job is done.

Hello, this is a high-risk mains-coupling problem and I can deliver a safe, production-grade isolated interface. I will design a transformer-coupled TX/RX network optimized for 80 kHz injection with minimal loss and strong noise immunity. The circuit will include proper mains-rated capacitors, surge protection (MOV/TVS), and filtering for continuous 230 Vac operation. I will specify or design a high-frequency isolation transformer suitable for low-loss 80 kHz coupling. Both transmit and receive paths will be clearly separated with controlled impedance and protection stages. Your Teensy 4.1 will remain fully isolated from the mains side under all conditions. I will provide a complete schematic, BOM with exact part numbers, and transformer details. Design notes will explain injection level, insertion loss, filtering strategy, and safety compliance. Optional SPICE validation and compact PCB layout can be included for confidence before build. Regards, Engineer Muhammad Usman

Best 230V / 80kHz Isolated Coupler Design Expert! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dear Client, This is not just a filter-and-transformer task. The real challenge is preserving the 80 kHz burst path cleanly while staying safe on a continuously connected 230 Vac line. That is exactly where weak designs fail. For this job, the important part is not only coupling the signal onto mains, but getting the isolation boundary, protection network, line-frequency rejection, transformer behavior at 80 kHz, and receive-path sensitivity all working together without compromising safety or pulse integrity. That is where I can help. I would approach this as a mains-coupled signal-interface problem first: define a safe injection/reception architecture, control insertion loss, protect the low-voltage side properly, and make sure the schematic is practical to build and test on live mains. A few key questions from my side: 1. Are you coupling phase-to-neutral, or do you want the same interface adaptable phase-to-phase as well? 2. What approximate receive amplitude do you consider acceptable after the live mains segment? 3. Do you want the transformer custom-wound only if no suitable off-the-shelf option is strong enough? If you message me, I can also share relevant hardware work and explain how I would structure this so the design is not just theoretically correct, but realistically testable and safe. Hi there, I reviewed your requirements and I’m a senior power/embedded hardware engineer with 9+ years of experience in isolated signal injection, PLC-style coupling, and mains-referenced designs, including high-frequency coupling over AC lines with strict safety isolation. Approach - I will design a transformer-isolated TX/RX coupling stage optimized for 80 kHz injection over 230 VAC, maintaining signal integrity while blocking mains frequency - I will implement proper line filtering (LC band-pass / high-pass), surge protection (MOV/TVS), and impedance matching - I will specify or design a suitable HF isolation transformer (core material, turns ratio, bandwidth, isolation rating) - I will ensure safe separation using creepage/clearance, reinforced isolation, and protection layers to fully isolate the Teensy - I will validate via SPICE simulation (insertion loss, frequency response, transient behavior) Deliverables include schematic, BOM with MPNs, transformer spec/design, and design notes explaining isolation, filtering, and signal path. I focus on safety, signal integrity, and real-world robustness on live mains. Questions - Single-phase or 3-phase simultaneous coupling? - Expected line impedance/length? - Any EMC compliance targets? Best regard

HELLO, i added some features in proposal ,please read if you are interested for best solution to your problem. Here is the signal path logic for the reference design: [MAINS SIDE 230V] 1. Input Protection: 2A Fast-blow fuse -> GDT (Gas Discharge Tube, 470V-600V) connected between Line and Neutral/Earth for surge suppression. 2. High-Pass Filter: Two X2-rated 0.1uF/630V Polypropylene Capacitors in series with the transformer primary to block the 50Hz mains voltage. 3. Coupling Stage: Custom-wound N87 Ferrite Transformer (1:1 ratio) -WURTH -to provide 4kV galvanic isolation while maintaining 80kHz pulse integrity. [LOW VOLTAGE SIDE - TEENSY] 4. Secondary Clamping: Bidirectional TVS Diode (1.5KE series) across the transformer secondary to catch any residual transients. 5. TX Path: Teensy 4.1 Digital Out -> High-speed MOSFET/Transistor driver stage to feed the 6Vpp bursts into the transformer. 6. RX Path: Active Band-Pass Filter (tuned to 80kHz) using an OP-AMP (e.g., TL082) with high-gain for clean signal recovery from the noise floor. This layout ensures that the 230V AC stays strictly on the grid side of the isolation barrier, while the 80kHz pulses traverse both ways with zero insertion loss.. Hi, This is not just a schematic task — it is a high-voltage signal coupling and isolation problem that requires careful consideration of safety, signal integrity, and real-world operating conditions. With 11+ years of experience in embedded electronics, high-voltage interface design, and production-focused hardware, I can help develop this as a safe, stable, and production-ready coupler, not just a working prototype. ✅ Risk-first architecture I would define isolation boundaries, surge behavior, and coupling strategy first — including how the 80 kHz signal coexists with 50 Hz mains — before finalizing the design. ✅ Hardware built for trust Transformer-based galvanic isolation (optimized for 80 kHz transfer) Proper creepage/clearance for 230 V operation ✅ Proven before delivery The design will be validated for continuous mains connection and signal integrity, not just theoretical performance. ✅ Manufacturing-ready output Complete schematic (KiCad/Altium/PDF) The value here is not just transferring a signal. It is ensuring the signal transfers safely, consistently, and predictably on a live 230 V system. ✅ Key question For final optimization: Should the design prioritize maximum signal transfer (lower loss) or stronger isolation and noise immunity under harsh mains conditions? If your goal is a solution that works reliably on a real mains line—not just on paper—I can help deliver that. Regards, Avi Gupta Quality is never an accident
