The admin creates a username and password for a new user and sends that information to the user. The admin will determine if the user’s account will use credit cards for payment, or if the user will be able to pay his account balance at the end of a 30-day or 60-day period. The admin will also determine if the user will be charged for actual shipping or will pay for shipping according to a simple shipping table.
The user logs into the website with his username and password and fills in the details for his account: billing and shipping address, sales representative name, phone number, email, tax ID number, and, if required, credit card number.
When using the site to place an order:
The user will select the type of product: styrofoam cup (16 or 20 oz), stadium cup, hot cup, frost flex cup, koozie, or clear plastic cup (12 or 20 oz).
The user will select the ink color.
The user will choose from 3 options:
Option A: “I want to choose my cup design from a template.”
Option B: “I want to choose my own artwork and fonts.”
Option C: “I want to create a totally custom design.”
If the user chooses Option A (“I want to choose my cup design from a template”), he sees a list of clip art associated with a specific code. He picks his design (from a drop down menu?). Then he enters his text in a text field.
If the user chooses Option B (“I want to choose my own artwork and fonts”), he sees a list of clip art associated with a specific code. Then he sees a list of fonts associated with a specific code. He picks from several options for artwork placement.
If the user chooses Option C (“I want to create a totally custom design”), he can email a description of what he’s looking for or upload/email artwork that he would like to use. Pricing for this option would have to be quoted for each individual project—it could not be determined automatically. Sometimes the customer might upload artwork that could be printed easily, and sometimes a graphic designer might have to be hired to create the artwork from scratch, so it’s not possible to determine a set price.
For each of the above items, the user might also choose to add other options from a list, like lids, or a proof, etc., for an extra charge.
The user would specify his shipping and billing address, as well as the email address where any proofs would be sent.
If the user is set up to pay by credit cards, the user would enter his credit card information. If the user is set up to pay his balance at the end of a 30-day or 60-day period, he would NOT have to enter any payment information.
The website would generate an order confirmation for the user and a work order for the customer. Ideally this would show the clip art and text chosen by the user in his order.
The website would generate a UPS shipping label (or allow the admin to generate a shipping label). Please note: if an order is placed for more than 200 cups, 2 or more separate shipping boxes will be required. If the website can generate multiple shipping labels for such orders, we would be very pleased.
We need to implement a temporary, VERY BASIC version of this website as soon as possible. The client needs to launch at least a basic version of this site on AUGUST 3. Even a form that links up to a credit card processing system would be helpful. Some kind of login screen would be necessary.
This is third party work and we are your client. Your work will be incorporated into a website that says it was designed by our company and can not be used on your portfolio pages. Please let us know that this is not an issue for you. We will give an excellent review for completed work.
We've done one site that is similar and have all the back end code for it in magento.
