We own and run the website store [login to view URL], as in the attached txt file (read the txt to get the name).
We sell 19,536 products that are auto spare parts.
We work on a dropship model, that is, for each product purchased in our website, we place an order in [login to view URL] and ask the ebay seller to deliver to our end customer.
To price our products, we get prices for all products from ebay. We run daily a routine, which does the following for each and every product in our store:
- Routine searches ebay for this product (key is the product number). It gets the results from ebay. It gets the cheapest two products from ebay
- If no products are found, product availability in shopify is set to zero
- If product(s) are found, the routine gets the average price from the two cheapest prices, increases it by our profit margin and then sets our product price in shopify as this price; it also sets the availability of the product to one.
As a result, we run every day (or every two) a long process of getting prices from ebay and updating them in our shopify store.
THE DYNAMIC PRICING PROJECT
We want to go into a model where our products are dynamically priced in shopify, once our customer asks for this product.
To do so, we want, for all our shopify pages where products are shown (either a page list with products, or products shown individually) to have the routine “embedded” into shopify.
So, when customer asks, in our store, for a product and he gets a result (with one or maybe more products), the shopify dynamic pricing will call, for each product, our existing routine and get back the ebay price.
The price shown to the customer will be a price updated seconds before. If the product was not found, the availability should be zero.
