Shopify pricing consultancy: retail and wholesale on one store Consultancy only for now - once a strategy is approved a new task to enable suggested fix, will be set at agree task price (only 10 products need retail prices added to front end of the website) wholesale prices are already set and working I run Re-Loved Apparel Wholesale at [login to view URL] on the Shopify Grow plan. This store is currently wholesale-focused: approved distributors log in, and we use Shopacado Volume Discounts for quantity-based wholesale prices. Eligibility is set using the Shopify customer tag distributor. We also use MultiVariants for bulk ordering across product options such as colours and sizes. What I want I want retail and wholesale customers to use the same store and product URLs, rather than separate retail and wholesale URLs. Public visitors and non-approved customers should see retail prices, choose product options, and be able to buy. Approved distributors should log in and see and receive the appropriate wholesale quantity prices. Wholesale prices and discounts must not be available to retail buyers. This must also work for orders we create in the Shopify admin, not just storefront checkouts. Wholesale is the main part of our business, so staff must be able to create a wholesale order or draft invoice with the correct wholesale price for the buyer and quantity. Retail orders must retain retail pricing. We cannot rely on staff noticing and manually correcting a retail price on every wholesale order. Current behaviour and risks Our logged-out product page currently displays “Login for distributor pricing” instead of a retail price and usable buying controls. An inspection of one product page found custom logged-out messaging and a MultiVariants app block with CSS hiding its contents. Please establish exactly what controls this behaviour before recommending a change. Shopacado has quantity breaks that can combine quantities across variants of a product. For example, the CT01 T-shirt offer shown to us has a 1+ wholesale tier and a 100+ tier, with quantities summed per product. Preserving mixed-size/mixed-colour quantity breaks is important. As a test, we changed Classic Sustainable T-Shirt / CT01 variant prices to AUD $29.90 retail. The public page still hid the price. When starting an admin draft order for 100 Snow / S shirts, Shopify displayed $29.90 per shirt and no discount, not the Shopacado wholesale tier. We did not establish that Shopacado can apply its discount to admin-created drafts. Please treat CT01’s changed base prices as an outstanding operational risk and advise how to safely restore or handle them; do not assume every variant’s previous base price was the same. Please use the regular Guthega rPET Beanie / RGB as the proposed low-risk product for any future proof of concept, not the separate EOFY Deal beanie. This engagement is for advice only: do not change its prices, theme, apps or order setup without separate approval. Consultancy deliverables Recommend a practical architecture for one-URL retail and wholesale selling on Grow. Compare retaining Shopacado and the existing distributor approval process with using Shopify B2B companies and catalogs, including any migration of customer access and pricing. Explain whether each option preserves our per-product, mixed-variant quantity breaks. Explain exactly how storefront orders and admin-created draft orders would receive the right price for retail and wholesale buyers. Include what happens before and after selecting a customer, whether Shopacado discounts can apply to drafts, and what staff would need to do when invoicing. Distinguish what you have verified from what requires an app-supported test. Explain how to show retail prices, selectors and purchase buttons publicly without exposing wholesale tiers or discounts, while retaining the existing distributor/MultiVariants buying experience. Provide a small, reversible test plan for the Guthega Beanie covering logged-out retail, untagged logged-in retail and approved distributor buyers; one unit and quantities across each relevant price break; storefront cart/checkout and admin-created drafts; mobile and desktop. Include checks for tax and final invoice totals. Give me a written recommendation with limitations, estimated implementation scope and any ongoing staff steps or app costs. Identify anything that cannot be achieved exactly on Grow or with our current apps. Do not implement changes as part of this consultancy. My priority is protecting the existing wholesale workflow while adding a reliable retail buying path. Please don’t recommend simply setting all Shopify product base prices to retail unless the proposal also solves wholesale pricing for staff-created orders.

Hello, I can design a Shopify solution that keeps retail and wholesale prices separate while sharing the same product URLs, without requiring staff to manually adjust prices. I’ve helped a client set up a similar dual-pricing system using Shopify’s B2B Companies feature, which automatically applies wholesale discounts to tagged customers while showing retail prices to others. I’d approach this by using Shopify’s built-in B2B Companies for wholesale pricing and a custom script to hide wholesale tiers from public visitors, then testing the Guthega Beanie with both retail and wholesale buyers to verify the experience. This will let retail customers shop normally while ensuring wholesale orders always use the correct pricing, reducing errors and support requests. I’ll provide a step-by-step plan with clear testing steps to confirm everything works before any changes are made. If this approach aligns with your needs, I’d be happy to discuss the details further. Thanks, Lazar.

Hi, How do you envision seamlessly integrating retail and wholesale pricing on your Shopify store? From your detailed requirements, it seems the current setup lacks the necessary flexibility for different customer types. To enhance your store, I can recommend a strategy that allows both retail and wholesale customers to interact with the same product URLs. One potential solution is to utilize Shopify’s B2B capabilities and possibly leverage specific apps to maintain the integrity of your discount structure. I will also outline how to adjust product visibility to ensure the correct pricing displays and provide a test plan for phased implementation. My aim is to support your existing wholesale workflow while creating an accessible retail experience. With over 12+ years of Shopify experience, I’m confident I can guide you through this process effectively. Let me know how you’d like to proceed! Best Regards, Priyanka

Hi, I can review your current Shopify Grow setup and provide a consultancy-only recommendation without making any changes. I’ll assess Shopacado, MultiVariants, distributor tags, theme logic, storefront pricing, and admin draft-order behaviour. I’ll also compare the current setup with Shopify B2B/catalog options, specifically checking mixed-variant quantity breaks and how wholesale pricing can work reliably for staff-created orders. I’ll provide a written recommendation, limitations, costs, implementation scope, and a reversible Guthega Beanie test plan, clearly separating verified behaviour from anything that requires app testing. The tricky part here is preserving your existing wholesale flow while opening the same product URLs to retail buyers without leaking wholesale tiers. That usually comes down to three things working together properly: storefront visibility rules, discount logic across variants, and reliable pricing inside admin draft orders so staff are not forced to catch mistakes manually. I’ve reviewed and planned similar Shopify wholesale/retail setups involving tagged customers, discount apps, and theme-level hiding of pricing or add-to-cart controls. Your note about CT01, the logged-out “Login for distributor pricing” message, and the uncertainty around Shopacado in draft orders are exactly the kind of edge cases that should be documented before any implementation is approved. I can help with a practical written architecture recommendation, limitations, and a reversible test plan based on the Guthega Beanie. - Are approved distributors currently always tagged manually, or is there any app-based approval workflow involved? - Has Shopacado support already confirmed anything about draft orders, or is that still completely unverified?

Hello, I see you're looking to streamline your Shopify store to cater to both retail and wholesale customers using the same URLs. This means we need to ensure that retail buyers see the retail prices and have a smooth buying experience, while approved distributors get access to their wholesale pricing without any confusion. With 7+ years of experience in eCommerce and Shopify, I can help you identify the best approach to achieve this. My strategy will involve analyzing your current setup, including how Shopacado and MultiVariants interact with your pricing structure. I’ll provide a clear recommendation on how to maintain your wholesale workflow while introducing a reliable retail option. One question I have is: have you considered how your customer tagging system might affect the visibility of retail prices for logged-in users who aren't approved distributors? I can audit your current Shopify pricing architecture and provide a practical consultancy focused on protecting the existing wholesale workflow while enabling reliable retail pricing on the same URLs. I’ll compare Shopacado with Shopify B2B, investigate storefront versus admin draft-order pricing, mixed-variant quantity breaks, customer tagging, and app limitations, then provide a reversible Guthega Beanie test plan and clear implementation recommendation without making any changes. What you need is a pricing strategy that protects wholesale first, not a cosmetic fix that makes retail visible but breaks staff-created orders. The safest approach is to audit the current pricing/display chain end to end, then compare whether your present tag-based setup can reliably support one-URL retail + wholesale better than a move toward Shopify B2B catalogs on Grow. I’ve handled Shopify cases where apps appeared to solve storefront pricing but failed once draft orders, customer selection timing, or mixed-variant quantity breaks were tested properly. Your brief is strong because it already points to the real danger areas: hidden product controls, variant-base-price changes on CT01, and the need to distinguish what is confirmed versus what still requires a controlled test. I can provide a concise written recommendation, implementation scope estimate, and a low-risk test matrix for storefront and admin scenarios. - Do you need the final advice structured as a decision document comparing both paths side by side? - Is MultiVariants essential for retail buyers too, or mainly for distributor bulk ordering?

Hi, Thank you for the detailed brief. Protecting your existing wholesale workflow while adding a reliable retail path is exactly the right priority. This consultancy needs hands-on investigation (finding what controls the logged-out message, checking how Shopacado behaves with draft orders, and comparing it with Shopify B2B on the Grow plan) and a written report with a reversible test plan. Doing that properly takes considerably more time than the stated $10-30 AUD budget allows. I can deliver the full written recommendation for a fixed fee of [your price], covering the architecture comparison, draft-order pricing logic, the Guthega Beanie test plan, limitations, and estimated implementation scope. I'd make no changes to your store. Could you confirm whether you can provide staff-level store access for read-only inspection, and whether you're open to adjusting the budget?

Hi there! I have **10 years of e-commerce development experience**, including Shopify, custom pricing workflows, customer segmentation and checkout integrations. I understand this engagement is **consultancy only**—no theme, pricing, app or order changes will be made. I’ll first establish what currently controls the logged-out experience across the **theme, Shopacado, MultiVariants and distributor-tag logic**. I’ll then compare the practical options for keeping retail and wholesale on the same product URLs, including the limitations of your current Shopify Grow setup. A key part of my review will be the issue you highlighted around **admin-created draft orders**. I won’t recommend simply changing base prices to retail unless the proposed architecture also gives staff a reliable wholesale pricing workflow. I’ll provide a written recommendation covering **storefront vs admin pricing, mixed-variant quantity breaks, customer access, app limitations/costs, CT01 risk, and a reversible Guthega Beanie test plan** across retail/distributor, mobile/desktop, checkout and draft orders. Could you provide collaborator access plus screenshots/configuration details for Shopacado and MultiVariants? I can then review the existing setup before recommending any changes. Hi, I see you're looking to develop a pricing strategy for integrating both retail and wholesale pricing on your Shopify store, Re-Loved Apparel Wholesale. The goal is to add retail prices for 10 products while keeping the existing wholesale setup intact. The primary challenge here is to ensure that the dual pricing structure is seamlessly integrated without disrupting the current wholesale operations. My approach would be to first assess the existing pricing setup and prioritize a structure that maintains operational stability while incorporating the new retail pricing efficiently. I have experience with Shopify customization and have previously worked on projects that required similar dual pricing strategies. Utilizing Shopify's capabilities and potential custom solutions, I can offer insights tailored to your needs. Q1 – Are there any specific conditions or rules for retail pricing that need to be applied? Q2 – Do you require different user access levels for retail and wholesale customers on the site? Q3 – Is there a preferred timeline for implementing the new pricing strategy after consultancy? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer with experience in Shopify integrations and multi-channel pricing systems. I understand your challenge: you need one storefront showing retail prices publicly while preserving your wholesale workflow with Shopacado and admin draft orders. The core issue is that your current setup hides retail pricing entirely, and changing base prices breaks wholesale discounts. You need both paths working reliably without manual intervention. I'd start with discovery. First, I'd audit what controls the logged-out experience on your product pages—the custom messaging and MultiVariants CSS hiding. Then I'd verify whether Shopacado discounts apply to admin-created drafts. I'd also map how the distributor tag flows through storefront and admin contexts. From there, I'd compare two approaches: keeping Shopacado with a theme layer that shows retail prices conditionally, versus migrating to Shopify B2B catalogs. The key question is whether mixed-variant quantity breaks survive each approach. For testing, I'd use your Guthega Beanie across logged-out retail, logged-in untagged, and approved distributor scenarios, covering unit and bulk quantities, storefront and admin drafts, and mobile and desktop. The deliverable would be a written recommendation with verified findings, implementation scope, any Grow plan limitations, and required staff process changes. I can start right away. Let's connect and discuss. Thanks, Denis.

Hello, Your priority is clear: add a reliable retail buying path to the existing Shopify wholesale workflow without changing anything before approval. I can assess the current theme, MultiVariants, Shopacado configuration, distributor tagging, and Grow-plan limitations, then provide a written architecture recommendation rather than implementing changes. I will document how storefront and admin draft-order pricing behaves before and after customer selection, distinguish verified behaviour from app-dependent testing, and compare Shopacado with Shopify B2B companies and catalogs. The recommendation will preserve mixed-size and mixed-colour quantity breaks where supported, address CT01’s pricing risk, and use the Guthega rPET Beanie as the reversible proof-of-concept product. I will also provide a small desktop/mobile test plan covering retail, untagged customers, approved distributors, carts, drafts, tax, and final invoices, along with scope, staff procedures, limitations, and possible app costs. I will not modify prices, themes, apps, or order settings without separate approval. Regards, Muhammad

Hi there, The moment I read "Shopify B2B Theme Customization", I knew it was a strong match for exactly what we do best. What stood out to me is how clearly you’ve described what you want — and clarity like that is where we deliver our very best work. From your brief I can see this involves website, shopify — all areas we handle in-house. We specialise in Website Design, eCommerce, Inventory Management, HTML, which lines up directly with what you need. How we'd approach it: - Map out the scope, pages and data models up front - Build the frontend and backend with clean, scalable code - Test across devices and browsers, then deploy - Hand over with documentation and post-launch support I also noted you don’t need discount, not the Shopacado wholesale tier — that’s clear, and I’ll keep the work clean and strictly on-brief. Delivering at the scale of 10 products is no problem for us — we're set up for volume without dropping quality. You can count on tight communication, on-time delivery, and a result that’s effortless to sign off on. If it helps, I can share a couple of relevant samples and a short plan before you decide. Looking forward to it! Best regards, FreeLancers360 Let’s connect in chat and get started — message me anytime and I’ll reply right away!

The main challenge in this project is to seamlessly integrate retail and wholesale pricing on the same Shopify store, ensuring that different customer groups see the appropriate pricing and can place orders accordingly. To address this, I would first analyze the existing setup, including the use of Shopacado Volume Discounts and MultiVariants for wholesale pricing and bulk ordering. I would then propose a solution that allows for a unified shopping experience where retail customers see retail prices, while approved distributors access wholesale prices. This solution would need to work not only on the storefront but also for orders created in the Shopify admin, ensuring that wholesale pricing is applied correctly across all channels. One question that arises is how the existing setup controls the display of pricing based on customer tags and how discounts are applied, particularly for admin-created draft orders. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial to devising a seamless solution that caters to both retail and wholesale needs. Thanks, Faiz Website Developer
