I need to plug a set of 1080p digital IP cameras into our existing SAP weighbridge process so that every “In” and “Out” transaction is photographed and validated in real time. Here is the workflow I am after: • When a truck approaches the weighbridge, the system prompts the operator to trigger the camera. • The image is automatically linked to the open SAP weighbridge document. • Vehicle license plate verification and driver identification must run immediately against our current master data. • If the image is missing or either validation fails, the Weighbridge-In or Weighbridge-Out posting must be blocked until the issue is resolved. Deliverables • Configuration or middleware that enables SAP to call the IP camera, fetch the 1080p image, and store it in the relevant table/content repository. • ABAP (or equivalent) enhancements that enforce the two blocking rules described above. • A simple front-end screen/button for operators to capture and review images. • Technical documentation and a short hand-off session so my IT team can maintain the solution. We already have the weighbridge transactions running smoothly; your task is to bolt on the imaging and validation layer without disrupting the existing flow. I'm a SAP consultant with Protolearn. IP camera integration on a live weighbridge process, no middleware, no disruption to existing transactions — this is work I've delivered before. The approach: SAP calls the IP cameras directly over HTTP through an SM59 destination, fetches the 1080p still image, and stores it against the open weighbridge document in a content repository via ArchiveLink (OAC0/OAC3). Nothing third-party to license or maintain. Validation: for licence plate checks I use cameras with onboard ANPR, which return the plate as text via their API — SAP compares that string to your vehicle master data directly. Driver identification is confirmed against driver master data on the capture screen. A custom check on Weighbridge-In and Weighbridge-Out then hard-blocks the posting if the image is missing or either validation fails, with a clear error for the operator to resolve. Front end: a clean capture and review screen with a trigger button, embedded in the operator's current flow. Handover: complete technical documentation and a working session for your IT team.
