We're looking for a Sales Director who will lead the capture of new clients for our software products, focusing on our commercial building audit tool and engineering firms. The position will have sales goals and will be the primary driver in our expansion in commercial energy audit software. The person in this position will be an advocate of our expertise in front of prospective customers and industry events.
Our team works entirely remotely; comfort with web-based collaboration is critical. The Sales DIrector position may be full- or part-time, salaried or commission-based depending on the applicant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Represent usto existing and prospective clients.
Create strong relationships with decision makers at prospective client firms, especially engineering firms that conduct energy audits of commercial buildings, and engage them in discussions about their needs and the solutions provided by us.
Direct our team in building relationships with potential clients through activity in organizations, trade shows, presentations at conferences, individual capability presentations to firms, etc.
Understand the energy audit software markets on individual state and program levels and use this knowledge to identify upcoming opportunities for our products and services.
Collaborate and educate the team on opportunities in emerging areas
Utilize insight and experience to contribute to our business development strategy.
Achieve annual goals/targets for number of new clients and revenue..
Serve as company representative in industry associations.
Partner with Product Management on opportunities.
Deep knowledge in building energy efficiency businesses and engineering firms that focus on building energy analysis (do not need to be an engineer).
Some knowledge of energy efficiency regulatory frameworks, incentive programs, and technology is desired.
Comfortable guiding the development of new products and business models.
Bachelor’s degree accredited college or university; Advanced degree - Preferred
8-10 years of experience working with or for engineering firms in the building energy analysis field
Experience in managing and building high level relationships with large firms
Demonstrated experience in sales and business development
Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work efficiently
Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload
Proficient in Google Apps suite
Ability to use social media tools such as LinkedIn and Twitter
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients and colleagues
Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems
Willingness to travel
Ability to work remotely
