Project2heal is the country's only non profit dedicated to decreasing the time and cost for a veteran with PTSD, a child with special needs or an adult with disabilities to receive a service dog. We do this by donating Labrador retriever puppies that have outstanding pedigrees and all go through our proprietary nurturing [login to view URL] organization was started in 2005 after the founder read a research report indicating that most service dog organizations do not have a breeding program but rather have to search through shelters to find dogs that might be ale to pass the rigorous training that a service dog goes through. Unfortunately the study found that only 12.5 or 1 of 8 dogs acquired from shelters can pass service dog training. This is why it can take someone in need of a service dog to have to wait 3 years or more to acquire a service dog. Recent research out of Purdue University veterinary school found that service dogs can reduce hyper vigilance, night tremors, cortisol levels and outbursts of anger. That's good news however it can take 3 or more years for a veteran with PTSD to be partnered with a dog. With 25 of our veterans taking their lives each day or 75 taking their own life each month and 9000 veterans committing suicide each year, knowing that service dogs can prevent that something needed to change.
Most service dog organizations do not have a breeding program and they spend both much time and money scouring shelters to find those diamonds in the rough. Project2Heal is the answer to these organizations as well as organizations that do have a breeding program but cant breed as many pups as they need each year.
Project2Heal puppies have approximately a 75% pass rate when placed in service dog training. The success of our pups has resulted in an ever-growing list of organizations wanting donations of our pups.
Project2Heal's revenue is down $24,000 of $300,000 through June of this year. Our golf outing which brings in about $85,000 had to be cancelled. Therefore we have had to come up with a virtual event. In December we will hold our first ever virtual event that will be called a Pup A Thon.
We have a proposal for social media marketing through Beasley Marketing. We will also have the support in that area through marking Agency Five and fifty.
Where we need help is in the area of deciding on sponsorship packages and run of show. We are looking for someone who has experience in these areas that can work with our President, Creative Director and one or two board members to put together a 4 hour program where 36 minutes will be dedicated to sponsors via a few methods including 30 second or one minute pre recorded commercials, written copy, etc. so that we can make this event as successful as possible.
