I use cold email as one of the main channels to land clients for my own agency (Velar IA), so this isn't something I learned in a course, I've been tuning it on real campaigns. On workflows: the key is separating list building from the sequence. First build a list with real data (role, company, something specific about that person), then a short 3-4 email sequence spaced out over days, not sent all at once. The first email never sells, it asks a question or references something specific about their business so it doesn't feel mass-sent. On AI personalization: I use it to generate the opening line of each email (the specific one), not the whole body. A fully AI-written email is easy to spot and kills reply rates. AI speeds up research, it doesn't replace the message. On deliverability: this is where most campaigns fail. You need to warm up the domain before sending volume, use a separate sending domain from your main one, get SPF/DKIM/DMARC right, and spread sends across multiple inboxes. Without this, even great copy lands in spam. On tool alternatives: there are several options depending on volume and budget, with different tradeoffs for automation, warmup, and reply tracking.
