Rotating website content

I'm looking to place fresh (and relevant) content on my webpages. I have MANY sites, and need a simple code that I can easily add to the html that will enable me to rotate content (namely articles, or relevant information) that I store as a file on my server.

The script must be simple to install on multiple sites, and offer me the ability to rotate unlimited [url removed, login to view] or pdf files.

I already utilize news feed to bring fresh content, so please do not offer this as an alternative. I have numerous articles that I wish to post, but don't want to constantly change my sites.

Server (apache 1.3).

Forgot to include...

Want the ability to rotate unlimited TXT file, and/or word.doc or pdf. (Primary file preference to rotate is simple TXT).
