I am currently doing a study. I looked at 140 patients who had shockwave therapy for plantar fasciitis. I asked the patients what their pain level before treatment and what was it after treatment (pain scale goes between 0-10, zero means no pain, 10 means excruciating pain ). I also asked them to rate their treatment outcome based on (excellent, good, fair, poor)
I would like to look at only the patient who is 65 and older ( in elderly category) and want to see their pretreatment pain level vs post-treatment pain and compare that against the patients who are younger than 65 in the sample. I would like to do a statistical analysis find the significance of the treatment. I also want to see how many of the people over 65 actually did stretching exercises after the treatment and if stretching had any correlation with having an improvement in pain level. You might have to play around with the data to see what you are able to decipher and what is significant from the data. I would appreciate if you read a journal article that is similar to the study I'm doing except they did that on people who were in the military. I am more interested in people who are elderly (65 and up). I am including the study for you to read and also my data to see what you can come up with to publish this study.
I would like to publish this in a journal so id like to get some graphs, charts along with the statistical parts.
