In this project you will survey the literature about photocopying using charged particles, aka xerography, aka laser printing, aka led laser printing, aka electrostatic printing.
You will prepare a report double spaced which we will use as Specifications. Standard annotations.
I will provide you with an outline to guide your survey, and your preparation of the document.
You will use the internet, scientific articles, and expired USA patents as the sources for information about coatings.
You will be paid by milestones. Here is a draft of the milestones :
There are 4 milestones, with a overall budget of USD$70.00. The first milestone shall be completed in 5 days, and the whole project complete in 10-15 days.
Milestone 1 $10.00 5-15 pages. Describe the chemical and physics of the electrostatic photocopying process. Describe the voltage, frequency, current, waveform. Describe the similarities and differences between electrostatic printing, xerography, laser printing, and led laser printing.

Milestone 3 $10.00 5-15 pages. Describe the common components of a photocopying machine. Copy and send me a couple of exemplary line drawings of the photocopier components, black and white or grey scale preferred. Describe the components compatible with the Detailed Description paragraphs of a standard patent document.
Milestone 2 $10.00 5-15 pages. List common ingredients in toners. What are the common characteristics of toners which make them suitable for photocopying? What are their semiconductive properties? Their polarities? Their size and shape? Particles with the same charge mutually repel each other, and self assemble to a surface with the opposite charge. When self assembling to a surface, what prevents the particles from touching each other, and hence form a monolayer of particles to the surface?
Milestone 4 $20.00 5-15 pages. XXXXXXXXXXX can be deposited by electrostatic deposition. You will review a couple of patents which describe the electrostatic deposition of XXXXXXXXXX. You will also review several scientific articles which describe the electrical characteristics of XXXXXXXXXXXX.
