3.) The FOUR Sociology of Family concepts should be clearly defined. You should show how
course concepts help the reader understand the meaning of family.
a. This essay will discuss the sociological concepts (as if the reader has never taken
a family sociology class). Don’t assume the reader knows what dehumanization
means, or gender, etc.
4.) This essay should display your mastery of course material. Minimum of FOUR citations
from course materials (different chapters/films).
a. Your essay CAN use some material from your journals. If you write a few of your
journal entries with the final essay in mind, then the final essay might be easier
i. This may give you a high plagiarism score on SafeAssign. I do not count
using your own work from class as plagiarism. If you copy and paste from
websites into your essay, that is what will hurt your grade (or earn a zero)
5.) Outside sources/References:
a. Minimum of one external academic source. This must be from a peer-reviewed
