I need you to write a research article. 1) Describe the research topic that you would like to develop for your final year dissertation proposal and formulate an initial research question. Drawing on a minimum of four qualitative research studies, write a mini-literature review. Explain how the authors addressed their research topic and why or how it is relevant to the field. Discuss the methodological approach used by the researchers and relate these to your own research proposal. Based on the review of this previous work, explain how relevant is your own research topic.
2. Explain how and why your research is educational, and how and why a Qualitative Research Strategy is appropriate for your research question.

1) Describe your research topic, research question and write a mini-literature review
The literature review should have an introduction, body (organised by themes) and conclusion. Refer to the lecture ‘Qualitative Research Proposal 1: Research Question and Literature review for details’ (1500 words)
You are required to identify an educational research topic and develop a mini-literature review. Your literature review should include a discussion of the main theoretical concepts underpinning your topic, and a summary of empirical evidence.
You are required to review at least four recent academic sources (published within the past five years.
You can use the book by Archer et al if it is relevant to your topic but this book doesn’t count towards your four academic sources. You can make reference to government reports to contextualise your topic but these reports do not count towards the four academic sources.
You are required to carry out your literature review searches using the university library databases. Do not use the Internet to search for your four articles.
You should end your literature review with the formulation of a research question. Explain how the research question is derived from a critical review of the literature.
2) Explain how and why your research is educational, and how and why a Qualitative Research approach and the Interpretivist and/or Social Constructionist theoretical view of the world are appropriate for your research question.
These are the same questions that you developed in Essay 1. Use the feedback that you received in Essay 1 to develop you answer. In Essay 1 you referred to Archer’s et al’s research. In Essay 2 you will refer to your own research topic.
You should include at least three references in this part of the research proposal.

3) Explain what Research Design and data production methods are appropriate for your research questions. (500 words).
You have studied three types of research design: Life History, Ethnography, Case Study. Explain what would be the appropriate research design for your research topic and what are the methods that you will employ to produce data (interviews, observations, videos, photographs, document analysis). How does the choice of research methods will help you to develop an understanding of the participants in your proposed qualitative study? Archer et al, used interviews to develop a social constructionist understanding of the young people's lives, identities and schooling experiences.
You must refer to at least one core reading relevant to your choice of research design and one core reading to support your choice of research method. You need to demonstrate understanding of key theoretical and methodological concepts:
