Part 1: You are starting your own Information Systems/Technology company. You are going to create the major framework for your company’s business practices, policies, and processes with ethics in mind. You will create the following deliverables for your company with an explanation of why each of the items created is ethical based on the information provided in this course, your experience, outside reading, interviews, etc.

A short description of Information Systems/Technology products and/or services you provide
Are your products and/or services ethical? Why?
Code of Ethics for your Company:
Choose one of the three following approaches:
You may choose a chode of ethics from an established organization such as IEEE or ACM
You may choose an established code of ethics from an established organization
You may create your own code of ethics
Regardless of which of these approaches you chose, explain why you chose the code of ethics that you did
Discuss how each part of your code of ethics works together to create and maintain an ethical environment in your company

Employer/Employee Policy for Handling Employer or Employee Grievances Toward Each Other:

Part 2: Other types of policies, forms, contracts that you would have, please list them with a brief description of what the contents would be as well as why they are ethical to have in your new company.
Part 3: The following situation has occurred in your new company. How are you going to ethically handle this situation based on the foundation you have created from the above documents (policies and procedures)? When describing specifically what you will do, reference the documents and the specific areas in each of the documents that you will use in support of your actions. Outline the ethical decision-making steps you went through by identifying each step in the decision-making process and what was the outcome of each step. Determine which ethical theory/foundation influenced the ultimate outcome and explain why. Write down any assumptions that you need to make if there is not enough information given.
A high-level, technical employee, who was one of the lead technologists in the development or support of one of your key products or services, has quit the company. You have found out that the employee has gone to work for one of your leading competitors. Not only have you found out where the past employee is working, you have also found out the following items are missing from the ex-employee's desk and after reviewing the person's computer hard drive, items were copied from the hard drive onto removable media the last day the ex-employee was at the company.
