I want to find an individual who can give the best mix of price, timeliness and quality in building an AR superstructure to already-made and tested escape rooms. Work well-done can earn regular contracts with our company.
The successful candidate will create 4 sets of the following for me.
Designs for AR sets/set dressing, lighting elements and special effects to fit the following themes:
Zombie research facility, inside a school of wizardry, inside a missile launch facility mission control room, and a place where we are diffusing a bomb. The latter can be anywhere that lots of people are gathered and the stakes are high. Be creative in your suggestions. Where would it be especially exciting to have to defuse a bomb?
These can come from standard Unity Asset packages that we can agree on or other sources that will give us a jumping-off point. Environment/VFX packages need to be 3d, first person (AR) perspective, high enough resolution that they will look good life size.
In an ideal world we would like to be able to put markers around the room for the AR to recognize and have it made in such a way that we could cover the whole room with "wallpaper" that players could walk in front of and have them not vanish and with as few flickers and glitches as possible. If we need to limit VFX to certain squares on the wall (perceived as windows into animated footage) then we can explore and work within such limitations in our design.
We will want certain objects to be tracked by the software and have skins projected onto them. It could be animations, countdowns or prop pieces. (mergecube is a good example of what we will be working towards)
We will want to set up systems where switches, buttons, potentiometers and other sensors within props to wirelessly communicate through an arduino (or similar) system with the software in order to trigger animations and changes within the AR projected world and also to send signals to mag-locks and other actuators in the real world. We can do the installation/programming on the prop end.
At this point we are looking at Unity as the core development environment but are open to other options. We want the end result to be the most economical delivery system for the consumer. Possibly for an android phone-size tablet with a camera and merge 360 headset.
