Project:

To create an application that enables teams using Outlook to collaborate over emails, from inside the Outlook desktop application. This would require building the following components:

A frontend server that

- Supports user authentication (Microsoft OAuth) and account setup.

- Exposes APIs to manage attributes on a per email level (eg. assignee, status) based on user actions.

A backend application that synchronizes Outlook emails and email categories across multiple users’ mailboxes.

An Outlook desktop addin that lets users manage emails (via the assignment, status etc).

Ideal candidates:

We are seeking a full-stack developer (Python & Javascript) for the project.

5+ years of hands-on experience. Proficiency in Python and Javascript are must haves.

Research oriented mindset: The project will require digging in in some areas to figure out the right solution and you should be comfortable researching and figuring things out independently.

Experienced in building scalable event-driven backend systems. Experienced in building APIs from scratch with the latest tech stacks and best practices. This is the start of the project and you will lay the foundations for it.

Strong system design know-how - you should be able to design and architect a scalable, high performance and efficient system.

Database Knowhow: You should understand database concepts well and have strong data modelling skills, particularly with relational databases.

HTML / CSS requirements are minimal for the project, but you will do basic frontend coding for the purposes of internal demonstrations. Experience with React is a significant plus.

Experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud, particularly in AWS.

Analytical and Debugging Skills: The consultant should have strong analytical and debugging skills. They should be able to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.

Agile Development: You should be able to work independently and deliver in a fast-paced, agile setup. They should be familiar with agile methodologies and be able to adapt to changes in the project requirements.

Communication Skills: The consultant should have good communication skills, both written and verbal. They should be proficient in English and able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Experience with building Outlook add-ins is a plus.
