quick python adventure game

I need a simple python adventure game made. It must have classes for character and monsters. It must have # lines explaining what each sections function is (I am doing this so I have an example of what works as I am trying to learn basic python).
Game Basics:
The game is a simple choose your name, choose your class (mage, warrior, battlemage). I will use these examples to add more later. That is why there is one with no magic, one with only magic, and one with both (though weaker versions of each). I want to have a brief intro for them to read with the option to see a more detailed description which they can skip. I will add the intro and story after.
There will be a simple GUI for this game. Preferably using tkinter . It must have a button for seeing inventory, a frame to show current health and magic. So the player can read what is happening in the story while have quick access to see inventory if needed as well as seeing how they are with health and magic levels.
Player:
Each class will have health and magic stats. Inventory will be kept for weapons, items, and spells. weapons will use attack strength level to determine random damage and spells will use magic level to determine random damage. Obviously if you have no magic (warrior class), you will not be able to use any spells.
Once the choice of class is done, the character will enter an arena for practice. Here they will fight the various monsters. I just need one class done for the monsters (say goblins) so I can see how it is done. I will use that for practice to create more.
Battle sequences:
player will choose what weapon or magic spell to use. The system will then calculate random damage based on that to the monster(s). The player attack damage is based on what weapon they use (warrior starts with a sword, mage has magic and a weak dagger, battlemage has weaker magic and a short sword.) The battle continues until either the player dies or the monster(s) do.
Later on (when I understand python better) I will be adding levels for players and monsters. As well as expanding on monsters and their capabilities.
I have found many examples on various sites for this but none that I have been able to get to work as I want. Thus this project. Keep in mind I need to understand what each section of code does or this is pointless.
This must be done in latest python.
