I have made a couple of attempts thus far at getting a unique golf swing analysis hardware/software application successfully completed but failed. Much of it has been due to me and unexpected elements encountered in the earliest versions attempted that needed to be altered, particularly on the software side. And now I need to get back to it and complete it successfully.
It is not what I consider a complex application, at its most basic initially needing just two (ultimately wireless) orientation-type sensors placed on specific parts of the body, 3D orientation readings taken and synced together during a swing, and visual and mathematical comparisons of the orientations at various points of a swing (as rotated around to different angles on a 2D display).
A properly operating software application is far more important first, and I have a couple of (Arduino-type?) hardware units put together by the most recent contractor that can hopefully be used. I have attached front and back images of one of the sensors for reference. While powered by USB cable, its data is sent wirelessly by Bluetooth, which is linked to my desktop. If it is important to know what any given components are and that cannot be made out on the images, please let me know.
I would ideally like to proceed in two broad steps from here. First, I would preferably like to learn how to access all of the raw parameters and parameter data values the sensor is capable of providing when in use, be able to see and potentially work a bit with these values on my desktop (such as syncing them together in time if applicable as one example), and be able to share the appropriate data with any next contractor(s) in trying to get the needed application developed successfully. While the previous contractor did try to explain this process to me, there was a communication gap between us and I could never understand what he was trying to explain.
And then I could hopefully find someone to attempt the software application again more successfully this time. I have a fair amount of visuals and other information to show what was good and not so good about the previously attempted versions, and hopefully that will help considerably. I will need to ask for an NDA to be signed before commencing on any of the second part. Please feel free to throw any questions and/or comments my way if interested. I am open to hourly or project rates. Thank you.
