A test project exclusively for "jimcrow".
Basically, we are building an open source solution using python to automatically back up any files to AWS S3 from some cheap shared hosting.
For example you have a WP blog hosted on some crappy dreamhost for $5 a month. One day they decide you ain't no good any more and kill you off with all your posts, pictures and stuff. What do you do?
No worries. We've got an up-to-date mirror on AWS. Get another hosting, run a script there, get it all back from AWS and as soon as DNS is pointing at the new location you are back in action, no data lost.
The trick here is to keep things in sync, do not create overheads, back up only what needs backing up, etc.
