Drowsiness detection system is basically designed for safety during driving, which prevents accidents when the driver is going drowsy. This is an artificial based project in OpenCV and python. A countless number of people drive on the roads day and night. Bus drivers, car drivers, truck drivers and drivers traveling long-distance suffer from lack of sleep. Due to which it becomes very dangerous for them to drive when feeling sleepy. The more of accidents happen due to the drowsiness of the driver.
• The aim of this project is to develop a prototype drowsiness detection system. The focus will be placed on designing a system that will accurately monitor the open or closed state of the driver’s eyes in real-time
• Driver drowsiness detection system is designed to prevent accidents due to drowsiness in drivers. Our system is designed to wake up the driver and have a safe journey for drivers in night time specially. By drowsiness detection system, the drivers are alarmed during driving.
• We Used openCV to detect face of a driver.
The Drowsiness Detection System based on eye closure of the driver can detect the drowsiness while driving. The proposed system used to prevent the accidents due to the drowsiness while driving. The system detects eyes even someone wearing glasses and even in dim light. When a driver closes his eyes for few seconds, the system alerts the driver.
