A computer vision system is required to a manage parking lot using vehicle detection and licence plate recognition (LPR). Several companies have developed accurate, reliable engines to perform the detection/ license plate recognition and this software is available for integration into customised systems via standard APIs and SDKs.
I am looking for a competent coder/ developer to integrate existing licence plate recognition software (e.g. OpenALPR, [login to view URL], etc) into a simple database driven PC application. The application saves every car detected into a database for processing into useful functions for the parking lot manager.
A detailed design with algorithms and user interface design is provided.
The finished system will perform the following functions:
1. Accurate Car Detection
2. Saving Detected Images to folders
3: Database management
4: Calling 3rd party web service APIs / integrating OCR into the system
5. Decision making on incoming data
6. Error handling
7. General coding best practice and guidance
The chosen developer will be working on this project with high probability for continued work in the near future from design and functionality upgrades to the system. As such, I require a developer with the following skills:
Excellent communication in English
Excellent best practice coding skills and experience (Specifically with databases, algorithm and user interface implementations).
Some experience with vision systems.
Good feedback with client
