Full stack developer / CTO wanted to assist with writing a technical brief for a start up in the construction/legal technology industry, which is based around a web app.
This is not a direct development role, but rather requires an experienced developer to provide advice and update a written technical brief. This is a planning exercise where we are looking to flesh out the business concept from a technical standpoint, with a view to establishing a team to work on the development based on the technical brief.
Areas of the technical brief that require input include:
- Hosting platform
- Forms and integration (e.g. formstack)
- Public facing Website
- Content and Document Management Systems
- Dashboards, statistics and data analysis
- Automatic email alerts
- Collaboration, Shared document editing and Draft saving
- Cost/Time estimates
We are looking for someone who is familiar with technical writing and who has practical development experience. Familiarity with a wide range of coding languages, API's and integration is a required. An idea of basic project management and cost would be desirable also.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required and you must be patient with non-technical people. Your work will be subject to final review by other IT industry professionals and you should be able to provide reasons for the advice given.
You'll be provided with a business plan, flow charts for how the web app should work, a draft technical brief and we will have a session introducing you to the start up concept and where we can answer queries. You'll be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement also, so please only respond if that is okay with you.
Budget is negotiable and will be agreed, capped, up front based on milestones for:
(i) review of materials (1-2 hours)
(ii) initial discussion/Q&A time (2-3 hours)
(iii) technical writing time (TBC)
(iv) discussion of technical brief and reasons/Q&A (2-4 hours)
Please provide a short paragraph on your relevant experience.
