Fractional President / COO — Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Growth Execution -- Remote / Global *Engagement Type: Fractional / Ongoing *Compensation: Base / Monthly + Incentives About Us We are building DanKen Industries, a vertically integrated OEM manufacturing and supply chain company focused on engineered consumer and commercial products. Our initial product platform includes: - Enclosed cargo trailers — primary business - Custom rims, wheels, and tires — secondary product line - Golf carts — near-term expansion product line Our operating model is structured around: - China → raw materials, components, parts, and supplier sourcing - Dominican Republic → fabrication, partial sourcing, toll manufacturing, assembly, and production development - United States → sales, distribution, compliance, customer delivery, and market expansion We are building this from the ground up with a focus on cost control, scalable systems, strong execution, and long-term growth. --- Role Overview We are seeking a highly capable Fractional President / COO to help build, structure, and execute the business from startup phase into scalable operations. This is not a passive advisory role. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate as a founder’s right-hand partner, helping turn ideas, product concepts, sourcing opportunities, and sales channels into a structured, functioning business. In the early stage, this person must be comfortable wearing multiple hats across: - Operations - Supply chain - Sourcing - Logistics - Sales development - Business development - Project management - Team coordination - Execution planning As the company grows, this role will help separate responsibilities, build the team, delegate functions, and develop department-level leadership. --- What We Need We are looking for someone who can help build the company like a true operating partner. The ideal candidate should be able to: - Help develop the overall business structure - Organize priorities across multiple product lines - Build execution roadmaps - Coordinate engineers, sourcing reps, logistics contacts, and vendors - Help structure sales and business development strategy - Oversee day-to-day execution across active projects - Build systems, workflows, reporting, and accountability - Identify gaps, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities - Help move the company from idea → pilot → production → scale --- Core Responsibilities 1. Company Building & Executive Leadership - Help structure DanKen Industries as a scalable operating company - Translate vision into execution plans, milestones, and priorities - Support high-level decision-making and business planning - Help define departments, roles, responsibilities, and reporting structure - Build accountability systems so execution does not depend only on the founder - Support the transition from founder-led operations to team-led operations --- 2. Operations & Execution Management - Manage the overall execution roadmap - Track weekly priorities, deliverables, and bottlenecks - Coordinate between product development, sourcing, logistics, sales, and operations - Build project management systems and execution dashboards - Ensure projects move forward with urgency and structure - Help maintain consistent communication across all contributors --- 3. Supply Chain & Sourcing Strategy - Help structure sourcing systems across China, Dominican Republic, and regional suppliers - Support supplier identification, outreach, RFQs, and comparison processes - Help evaluate raw material sourcing, component sourcing, and manufacturing partners - Support cost validation and supplier negotiation strategy - Work with cost engineers or sourcing specialists to drive cost reduction - Help establish backup suppliers and sourcing redundancy --- 4. Manufacturing & Production Development - Help develop toll manufacturing and contract manufacturing structures - Support Dominican Republic production development - Help identify and evaluate fabrication partners and assembly partners - Coordinate with engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable - Help structure early production workflows and pilot production plans - Support production readiness, quality control planning, and scaling strategy --- 5. Product Execution & Engineering Coordination - Work with engineers, designers, sourcing specialists, and manufacturers to keep product development aligned - Help ensure product specifications, BOMs, sourcing, manufacturing, and cost targets are connected - Coordinate design updates, supplier feedback, cost concerns, and production feasibility - Help prevent misalignment between engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing - Support product launch planning across trailers, rims/tires, and golf carts --- 6. Logistics & Shipping Strategy - Help structure logistics flow across China → Dominican Republic → United States - Support shipping cost reduction strategy, especially for completed trailer systems - Evaluate freight methods, including LCL, FCL, RoRo, flat rack, tow/convoy, and hybrid models - Help compare logistics providers, carrier options, and routing strategies - Build visibility into shipping cost per unit, lead times, and risk points - Support creative cost-saving ideas for oversized trailer movement --- 7. Sales Development & Revenue Support This role should not only focus on operations. We are also looking for someone who can support commercial growth. Responsibilities may include: - Help develop initial sales strategy - Support dealer, distributor, and B2B channel planning - Help structure sales pipeline and CRM process - Assist with outreach strategy for dealers, fleet buyers, commercial customers, and partners - Help define pricing, margin targets, and sales process - Support early business development and partnership opportunities - Help create a repeatable sales development structure before hiring dedicated sales staff --- 8. Financial Discipline & Cost Control - Help build and monitor unit economics - Track target cost vs. actual cost - Help structure cost models across sourcing, production, and logistics - Support budget planning and cash-flow awareness - Help determine where costs can be reduced without hurting quality - Support performance-based compensation structures for contributors when applicable --- 9. Team Building & Delegation In the beginning, this person may wear multiple hats. As we scale, this role should help identify and onboard dedicated support such as: - Sourcing specialists - Logistics coordinators - Sales representatives - Project managers - Engineering coordinators - DR-based operations support - China-based sourcing support - Quality control support - Production managers The goal is not for one person to do everything forever. The goal is for this person to help build the system, then help build the team around it. --- First 30–45 Day Objectives During the initial phase, we want to focus on building clarity, structure, and momentum. Expected first-phase priorities may include: - Review current business model, product lines, and execution priorities - Build a 30–45 day execution roadmap - Identify immediate gaps in sourcing, logistics, engineering, sales, and operations - Help prioritize trailer launch requirements - Support sourcing and supplier strategy - Help define logistics validation plan - Help structure sales development approach - Build a weekly operating rhythm and reporting format - Recommend team structure for the next stage --- The ideal candidate should have experience in: - Fractional President, COO, General Manager, Operating Partner, or similar leadership role - Startup or early-stage company building - Manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or product-based businesses - Multi-country operations and vendor coordination - Sales development, business development, or channel strategy - Building teams, workflows, SOPs, dashboards, and accountability systems - Working directly with founders or CEOs - Turning unstructured ideas into structured execution plans --- Strong preference for candidates with experience in: - Manufacturing startups - OEM or private-label product development - Trailers, automotive, equipment, industrial products, or consumer durables - China sourcing - Dominican Republic / Caribbean / Latin America operations - Toll manufacturing or contract manufacturing - Freight, import/export, or logistics optimization - Dealer or B2B sales channel development - Cost reduction and unit economics management Important Notes - This is a build-phase opportunity, not a fully established corporate role - The business is early-stage, but the vision is long-term and scalable - The right person must be hands-on, practical, and execution-focused - This role requires flexibility, ownership, creativity, and strong follow-through - We are not looking for someone who only advises — we need someone who helps build and execute - As the business grows, the role can evolve into a larger leadership position --- Please provide: - A summary of your relevant experience - Examples of businesses or operations you have helped build or scale - Experience with manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, or product-based businesses - Experience with sales development, business development, or revenue growth - Your approach to building a company from early-stage concept into execution - How you would structure the first 30–45 days - Your preferred compensation structure --- Long-Term Opportunity We are building a scalable multi-product OEM platform. For the right person, this can evolve from a fractional build-phase role into a long-term executive leadership opportunity with significant impact on the direction and growth of the company. If you are a builder, operator, strategist, and execution leader who can help take a company from idea to structure to revenue to scale, we would like to connect. Best regards, DanKen Industries

I am interested in this kind of challenge but we need to discuss in detail over a video call. I have experience with international sourcing and supply chain especially from China and understand a thing or two about the US market as well.

Hi, there What stood out to me immediately is that DanKen Industries is approaching this correctly as an operational platform, not just a product company. The China -> DR -> U.S. structure only works long term if sourcing, logistics, production, sales, and execution are connected through disciplined systems early instead of patched together later. That is exactly the stage where strong operational leadership creates massive leverage. My background includes building and scaling operational structures around manufacturing coordination, sourcing pipelines, supplier management, logistics flow, technical execution teams, project management systems, and growth focused business operations. I’ve worked closely with founders turning fragmented ideas into structured execution roadmaps with clear ownership, KPIs, reporting cadence, cost visibility, and operational accountability. For the first 30–45 days, my focus would be: Centralized execution roadmap across all product lines Supplier and sourcing structure validation Logistics flow and landed cost visibility Weekly operating rhythm and reporting systems Product launch prioritization for trailers CRM and dealer pipeline structure Risk and bottleneck mapping Team gap analysis for sourcing, DR operations, logistics, and sales support I also like that this role combines operational execution with commercial growth because OEM manufacturing businesses fail when operations and revenue strategy evolve separately. Let's discuss.

Hello, To successfully drive DanKen Industries from startup to scalable operations, it's essential to establish a robust framework for decision-making and efficient resource allocation. One key challenge will be structuring the manufacturing and supply chain processes to ensure alignment with growth objectives while maintaining quality control. This matters significantly as inefficiencies in these areas could hinder scalability and profitability. In my previous roles, I have effectively built and implemented operational frameworks for various startups, focusing on supply chain optimization and team coordination. I've led initiatives that resulted in streamlined production workflows, which improved output by over 20%, and developed supplier negotiation strategies that enhanced cost efficiency by 15%. My hands-on experience in managing cross-functional teams will enable me to create a cohesive environment at DanKen Industries, ensuring that all departments work towards common goals. My approach would involve a detailed discovery phase to assess current operations and identify gaps. This would be followed by developing a 30–45 day execution roadmap that prioritizes immediate needs while laying the groundwork for long-term scalability. Continuous monitoring and adjustment of strategies would ensure alignment with growth objectives and market demands. What specific challenges have you identified in your current operations that you would like to address first? Could you elaborate on the key performance indicators you envision for measuring success in this role? Best regards, Andrew Rodgers

YOU WANT A FOUNDER LEVEL PARTNER FOR CROSS BORDER OEM ASSEMBLY, NOT A PASSIVE ADVISOR. THE REAL BLEED IN MULTI COUNTRY PRODUCTION IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU LISTED: MISALIGNED BOMS, TOLL MANUFACTURING DELAYS, AND FREIGHT ROUTING. If sourcing and DR assembly timelines are not perfectly synced, workflows appear fine but cash gets trapped in sitting inventory or expensive freight corrections. I engineer operations with strict unit economic tracking from day one so your margin is protected. A 45 day roadmap mapping China materials to DR fabrication to US delivery with hard cost validations An automated B2B sales pipeline capturing fleet buyers so revenue generation runs parallel to production A vendor accountability matrix ensuring DR partners hit pilot milestones without founder intervention You get documented workflows and a modular supply chain structure so adding golf carts is plug and play scaling, not a rebuild. What is the biggest immediate bottleneck: China sourcing, DR fabrication, or US sales channels? Are you currently tracking unit economics in Google Sheets or a dedicated system? Do you already have a shortlist for DR assembly partners or are we starting from scratch? How about you send your current planned shipping method for the trailers, I will reply with a strategy on how to blend RoRo and flat rack shipping from the DR to shave 15 percent off your landed cost, and we can discuss stepping in to build the rest. SEND A MESSAGE.

I've spent the last several years doing exactly what you're describing — stepping into early-stage and founder-led businesses, building the operating structure from scratch, and turning unorganized execution into a functioning company. The most relevant recent example is my current contract CEO engagement at a manufacturing and services company doing ~€3M/year in Croatia. I came in during a crisis — no clear accountability, bloated costs, declining margins. Within the first months I restructured the team, introduced individual KPIs and OKRs, tightened the sales process, implemented AI where it made sense, and rebuilt the financial controls. The result: monthly expenses down €15K, debt reduced by €150K, and revenue forecasted to double from €3M to €5–6M by year end. The founder was fully out of daily operations from week one. For a build-phase role like DanKen, my first 30–45 days would focus on understanding the current state across sourcing, logistics, and product lines, building a clear execution roadmap with weekly priorities, establishing a simple reporting rhythm, and identifying the biggest gaps in the chain from supplier to customer. I wouldn't come in with a fixed playbook — I'd map the actual situation first, then build the structure around it. Happy to connect and learn more about where DanKen is today and what the immediate priorities look like.
