Toronto-based company has a position for an internet marketing intern (paid). This is an ideal role for students at a business school or someone conducting post-graduate marketing studies. We are also willing to work with educational institutions to help the successful candidate qualify for academic credit in co-op programs, if desired.
This could also turn into an on-going paid position at the end of the term.
The description and responsibilities of this role are broken into two parts:
1. Development of a database of 100 on-line forums (directories, discussion boards, blogs, etc) for on-line advertising.
- These forums will be very specialized and will likely be very difficult to identify.
- There should be no cost to post to these forums.
- Good posting and net-citizen standards are to be adhered to at all times (ie. no overposting, spam, or use of unrelated sites).
- We will not be trading or exchanging reciprocal links, except for very rare exceptions.
Once these sites have been identified the next job responsibility is to revisit them over the space of several months (or even a year) and post relevent content with backlinks to our sites. We maintain 30 city-specific sites, at the end of the day 3,000 individual postings will take place.
Please note: Because we are looking for qualified, well-researched resources we are _not_ soliciting any automated posting services or back-link systems. Bids which propose these activities will be marked as 'not interesting' and ignored.
2. Development of an internet marketing plan specific to our company
The end objective of this campaign is to drive targeted traffic to our site and gain new members. To that end we are looking for a creative (stress on the word 'creative'), written marketing plan which addresses this goal and is:
Company profile, target demographics and google analytics stats will be shared with the successful candidate to help with the process. We have very specific requirements and campaign effectiveness will be easy to measure.
We are asking for a 10 hour per week minimum commitment as well as weekly availability for status updates and briefing (via skype or IM).
Enrollment in a business or marketing program is preferred but not necessary. We will also consider candidates who have strong exposure to social networks, who understand the concept of pagerank and who are comfortable with developing internet trends. Strong research skills are a must.
Compensation will be in the neighbourhood of the going rate for VPA's (vitual private assistants). Currently the rate is roughly $[url removed, login to view] USD per hour. We will consider a slightly higher rate if experience justifies it and more competitive bids will get first consideration.
