Skilled web developer is required for an Australian based online business that requires website optimisation.
I run an online ecommerce business that is based on WordPress and Woocommerce It has approximately 35 plugins and contains approximately 4,000 product lines.
Occasionally the site response times are very slow, but it’s very inconsistent as to when this happens. I can get varying scores on Gtmetrix. A Few customers have also reported a 403 Forbidden Access message to me.
I want to identify and resolve the root cause(s) of this intermittent slow response time issue. [url removed, login to view] advises the issue may be caused by the image sizes, but the images are not that big, and those it highlights are mostly very small images.
A review of all 35 plugins to ensure all are required, the plugs are appropriate and fit for purpose. They may even be part of the problem.
I require a suitably skilled and experienced web developer, someone experienced in WordPress and Woocommerce and that has good analytical skills and proven experience in problem solving.
There is an opportunity for ongoing work, dependent upon the success of resolving the slow response issue and comes with not present commitment. This includes:
• The resolution of a search issue.
The search function works inconsistently. The product SKU is a key field that needs to work in a search however it currently returns random and inconsistent results.
• Provide regular updates and testing of plugins, the website theme and WordPress version. Some plugin updates have crashed the site in the past.
An agreed update schedule at a convenient time would be negotiated – i.e. monthy.
• Re-design some graphics that refer to becoming a member, this is just the newsletter sign up, e.g. here: [url removed, login to view]
Note: I have a POS plugin that is critical to keeping stock levels accurate and any changes to the website must not impact this plugin or the stock recording functionality. The POS system is used about twice a month, and the POS plugin must be working during these times.
Ideally little down time is preferred for the website. Any outages must be authorised in advance. Scheduled downtime between 11 pm and 7 am Australian Eastern Standard Time are preferred.
