Job Description:
Need a PHP script coded to connect to a usenet server and download the newsfeeds from a seleted newsgroups. The newsgroups will be in a mysql database. The newsfeeds will be uploaded to a mysql database on a daily or weekly basis. Images or files would need to be stripped out of the feed as we only want the text.
The extraction PHP script does not need a UI as this would be called from a cron job. We would require the ability to sort the usenet feed by date, subject, author and thread. A sample page that queries the database and produces the output based on the newsgroup and a specific sort specified would be required.
