We are looking for a software that runs on Android phones or tablets.
The software is going to be used as a simple version of a cash register at a festival.
The people who are going to use it are working at the bar or at a food stand.
The goal is to make it as easy as possible for them to count what the customer has to pay. If possible, the amount then should be transferred to the banking terminal to finalize the transaction.
We see this in a big touchscreen overview of the products in which an employ has to complete following steps:
1) Select the goods that are being sold. For example: 2 x cola; 1 x beer; 1 x whine
If they want 3 beers, they tap beer 3 times
One button to finalize the selection
2) Select the payment method:
a. Tokens (for them who pay by cash. Tokens are bought at a different stand)
3) Two options:
a. If payed with tokens: a button that says payed
b. If payed buy card:
i. The transaction is forwarded to the banking terminal
ii. There is a response for the terminal when the payment was successful
4) Back to step one for the next customer
It would be perfect if ¾ of the screen can be used for an overview of the products and ¼ is being used for an oversight of what has already been selected.
For the products: it could be handy if we could make groups. That way we keep the overview when having to much products. For example:
If possible all the data from each selling point should come together in one database where we can see what has been sold by which selling point and at what time. That gives us the possibility to see which bar is doing which revenue. If the stock matches the incoming money et cetera.
The software should be able to work offline to make sure there aren’t as few as possible problems during the festival. Connection isn’t always perfect. The uploading of the data to the central database can be something that happens all the time or that we have to upload manually afterwards. Not of the biggest importance.
The data from the central database should be readable in Excel or other spreadsheet software.
An example of such software (but more complex and not fine tuned to what we want) you can find at [login to view URL] (choose POS).
