I need to create multiple menu items in a menu that point to the same post. For example, lets say there are two menu items About Us and Contact Us displayed on the home page. Both of them should point to the same post. However, the post contains php code that retrieves some data from the database. It displays customized data depending on what menu item did the user click. So the menu item name or some id should be present in the url when the user clicks on that menu item, which the php script can check.
This feature exists in Joomla out of the box (menu id is in the url along with the article id to which the menu is linked) but I don't know whether this can be done or not in wordpress.
1. So the first thing is to identify the plugin/setting in wordpress or develop this functionality.
2. Second thing is the post must be able to run php code on the server to fetch content from the database. In Joomla, this can be done using the Tiny But Strong plugin. It allows you to put php code in an article.
I need these two things set up on my test site.
