Each night I send a newsletter out to my members. Some members have the option to be notified by email when a newsletter is waiting in their inbox at the site.
So each night I'm guessing about 6,000 - 9,000 emails go out a night. The mail script that sends out the emails is set to run every 15 minutes and send to 750 members email addresses at a time. When this happens the server load gets a little bit higher (which is okay) but then the MySQL usage reaches the RED zone when I'm watching the "CPU/Memory/MySQL Usage" from my WHM panel.
Now I'm on a VPS (virtual private server) so I don't have a limit to how many emails I can send per hour. It has 512MB RAM that is Burstable to 1024MB RAM. And the server is running 8 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPUs.
I need someone to come up with a better way to fix this email script so it can send members the email notification in a TIMELY MANNER but not use up all the system resources!
Any questions just ask. Thanks. My budget is small on this.
