We are building an online Window Covering Store. Where our clients are able to shop for Blinds, Shades, Shutters, or Draperies. You may either build a new plugin or customize existing plugin (Woo Table Based Pricing) that is currently installed in our WordPress. We are looking to build similar system compare to [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] or www.zebrablinds.com. Admin are able to upload a pricing grid. Given a width and height of window covering this grid is able to tell the retail price of the window covering. To extend this functionality we would like to show end user the retail price and also show them the actual price (discounted price) that customer will pay for the window covering. So in the backend we would require functionality to upload a “COST FACTOR SHEET” which will keep track of what it will COST US in relation to the retail price for a given window covering product. Ex: retail price for a blind is $200, but our cost factor is: 0.3, this means it will cost us: $60. But now we will keep our margin at 25% (Admin will need to set margins according to either individual product or entire category of the product) and sell the blind to customers. So final price to customer would be: $75. So still customer saves $200 - $75 = $125 saving for customer. User must be able to select both width and height of window covering as part of a select box containing width and height values as per the restrictions set for the particular material used for window covering. So depending on the options selected for the product the price should change accordingly. This functionality is probably the most important aspect of the store. So far we have Woo Table Based Pricing which is able to give us retail price for the given window covering product (this you can customize or build a new plugin) But we want to extend the functionality so the system is user friendly and would like to have Summary box on the left/right hand side that lists exactly what product, width, height, all options (color, lifting/tilting mechanisms) that user has selected for current product etc.
Most important part would be constraint logic. So let’s say a Fabric Shade is 100 x 100 (Width x Height in inches). Now this shade can only be manufactured within given constraints. For example: Cellular or Honeycomb Shade in constrained in following way: Type of Fabric Selected, Cell Size (Single vs. Double), and type of options selected for the fabric for the given width and height. So a customer may only be able to select Cordless mechanism, but not top down bottom up. If they want both option then, for example, the size of the entire Shade could only be manufactured in 85 x 85 not 100 x100. All this is driven by size of shade/blind/shutter, type of material used (type of fabric/wood type/shutter material), and type of options selected. Another thing is that some of the window coverings may not come with certain options, EX: Roller Shade for example don't come with Top Down bottom up option etc. So each type of product has its own properties, characteristics, and constrains. Have you read the full requirement and understand what is to be delivered? Look at the [url removed, login to view] and www.blinds.ca. We are looking to build our site having combination of functionalities these both websites provide. I am sure I haven't captured ALL the requirements for now, but looking at the above site and you should be able to understand what the entire system entails. Please provide a brief high level proposal on how would you go about the execution of the final solution (the online Window Covering shopping system). If you have any questions please ask. I am happy to share as much info as possible to get the initial discussion going, but I need to be convinced that you understand the technical aspects and will be able to deliver the system on timely manner.
